Guest guest
The key to feeling well and perhaps achieving a reversal of this dreaded disease is to be TESTED to confirm deficiencies - which should then be addressed. Progesterone should (or any other hormone) should not be given to a person who already has an ample natural supply.Progesterone has not been my friend - as I had too much of that and not enough estrogen.Dustyocnstuff wrote: Melinda,Hi. I don't know how progesterone effects our issues, but I have discovered that I have an imbalance and the bio-identical progesterone has pretty literally been a life saver for me. I was on drugs for bipolar 2 for 3 years which worked but I couldn't stay on them to get pregnant. So, I got off of them. When I got pregnant, I had a horrible time maintaining my pregnancy my first trimester due to low progesterone and had to so P suppositories everyday. If I missed 2 days I was in unbearable cramps. Well, after that I researched P a lot and saw that it was a big reason for PPD, so 2 days after my daughter was delivered, I started on P. Even through all of the problems that have hit my family in this past year, I have never gone as low as I had before the P (including while on meds). I don't know if it would help you, but I am literally a different person. Happier, healthier and also finally able to lose weight easily after years of battling it.Do the research and see if it does apply to your life, even if it is just as an anti-depressant to help you deal with what is going on. in Chicago>> Hi ladies.> Thought I would post about my visit to the Women to Women clinic > today. Guest guest
Hi Melinda, The thing that I liked about this place was that they listened to me and did not look at me like some crazy lady looking for problems for myself, which is how docs have made me feel in the past. Dr. did not even want to discuss hormones with me. I am having a hard time coming up with the $ for the tests. That is my only drawback right now. I did one, which was $99, but prior to sending it out, I figured I would check the paperwork just to make sure I did everything correctly and I realized that taking antifungals like Diflucan, which I had taken 2 days prior, will alter the results significantly, so I did not send it and I have to get a new test kit and redo it. My regular gyn that I see in Southern Maine is not really into the hormone thing either. Despite the fact that I am basically not producing anymore progesterone, she is not concerned that this may be causing some problems for me. She actually mentioned putting an IUD into my uterus in order to regulate the bleeding. She then suggested BCP also to regulate my bleeding, which I am not interested in. Irregular bleeding is not my major concern anyway - it is the least of my concerns considering everything else. If I had the $, I would go to see Vliet also. Mindy>> . Anyway, that was the visit - it was fine, it just gave > me a lot to think about because I don't know what information to > trust.> > Melinda>
