Has anyone here ever tried veg. oil, I haven't heard of doing that before. I have 2 percent lidocaine, and that does not help at all. Are there other numbing gels that are good?

, not being able to use tampons seems to be a classic symptom of vulvar pain, particularly Vestibulitis.

I order Femglide off the net. I think the last bottle I got was from http://www.drugstore.com I'm pretty sure that Femglide and Slippery Stuff are made by the same company. I found slippery stuff to be a little too slippery... LOL!

If you do a search on our home page you find that many of us have used a lot of different things for lubrication... vegetable oil, crisco, olive oil, coconut oil. The only thing I've not tried yet is W-D 40..... okay..... BIG JOKE!!! Only Teasing! But seriously, though, some use the Olive Oil on a daily basis as a skin protectant. I like the Olive Oil, but it seems to lead to vaginal infection for me.

The Lidocaine comes in another strength too....the 5% ointment which is what most docs tell vulvar pain patients to use before sex. Hope this helps... ~Chelle
