Guest guest
Hi, long time not treated I am new here, and my treatment goal is to optimize my T3 treatment. I am currently at 150 mcg of T3 (First was Paddock then Mylan brands -- durn pharmacy switched on me!! - but only an $8.00 copay). I LOVE IT!! BUT, still need to work on cortisol - doing a saliva test today (backwards, huh?) and female hormone testing on next cycle. My big question.....is regarding mold exposure. I have had a mold problem in my house for 2.5 years....It was actively growing in my HVAC. We replaced all that, but still have residual contamination making me the sickest of all family members. I definitely felt WORSE when there was more mold, and starting to feel better with LOTS of meds - choelstyramine, low dose naltrexone, sometimes klonopin or neurontin. My morning temps have been low - 96-97.2 for 8 years, and I just found a doc to give me T3. _________________ My research has led me thus far: Mold exposure (in susceptible individuals - lucky me!) can raise cytokines. Cytokines can suppress the TSH to " normal " levels. Cytokines can also increase RT3. Bingo! Here I am! It seems that ALL the big thyroid folks (Holtorf, Teitelbaum, Lowe, Bowthorpe, Shomon, Rind, etc., etc.) are totally missing out on ( or NOT talking about) mold exposure in our homes as it relates to our thyroid hormone harmony. ---------My labs agree with the above. My FT3 was 311 and the RT3 was 256 during the worst of the mold exposure. Is that pg/mL? I can't find my lab printouts! I have had too much brain fog to figure out the ratio correctly. Later, I had leptin checked, and it was 38. Top of " normal " is 27. Does anyone else have--- confirmed mold exposure? genetic Rt3 tendencies? (My mom did so poorly on T4 that she quit it, and my Grandmother took Armour) previous thyroid issues before mold exposure? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? the thyroid problem or the mold exposure? I had hoped to switch to Armour, but maybe T3 is the thing for me. My last dose has worn off, as my back is starting to hurt.
