Guest guest
No, I'm not taking a bedtime dose, and I don't think I can add one, either. For why: If I take HC too late I either have to wait 2 hours to sleep (for it to wear off); or, if I can fall asleep soon after, then I wake up when that 1.5-2 hours is up in a lot of pain/awful, very strong spasms (would shoot up to my shoulder, or down my leg, instead of staying right in the kidneys/adrenal area). Even when a dose starts wearing off while waking (2-3.5 hours, depending on what I'm doing, etc.), it's a real quick change from 'okay' to 'not okay' (as I go low cortisol and hypo at the same time, I guess). Unless there's some way to get it to last longer and not 'stop' so abruptly (which would mean adding a bit of Medrol, I think; and not sure how much luck I'd have getting that), bedtime doses are out, I think. Yesterday and today I'm at 12.5, 7.5, 5, 5 (I've been trying for every four hours, so it's roughly ~9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm; but sooner if spasms start up) and I've been getting some kind of mini-thyroid dump for the last several days (and have hyper, hypo, and low cortisol symptoms all at once--including readdition of adrenal spasms throughout the day, which I'd mostly gotten rid of, and my eyebrows/eyelashes are shedding, which I figure is the increased hypo!), and so have just been...out of it, completely, so pardon rambling. So it might be good to start a bit of thyroid? If so, ack, and *panic*! No doc, so definitely no Armour. I never managed to screen docs (Kept hanging up on 'em!), and while the anxiety has gone down, I stupidly waited because temps weren't stabilising/were getting worse/more random (and vaguely wondering if it'd be better to get on Armour *then* go to a doctor after I had another set of labs done, so as not to get stuck on a low dose or not be treated at all--my TSH wasn't high), and now I can't think enough to mess with that right now; as I think slower than a conversation goes, and I can only do one semi-stressful thing a day, without...issues. Let's just say I couldn't focus enough to mess with taxes (tried...), and I gave up and decided I'll just let the IRS fine me if I was supposed to do estimated taxes!! :-o The rest of this is just temps, which I probably should have put in that other post! *blush* ~Jen Probably should have done this in the other post (as my temps really don't fit the definition of 'stable'...they're trying; but certainly not the .2 max change per day sense, that's for sure!), but here's the last 10 days or so of temp averages: 97.3 (day of extra HC, but stressful day) 96.6 97.1 96.8 97.4 (switched iron supp...been a bit 'hyper' since) 97.1 97.5 96.5 (really should have stress-dosed for something -- did raise HC, though) 97.6 98.0 That last temp is today, and the *only* time taking temps I've hit an average at 98 something was the two-day mini thyroid dump I got when I started HC, about a month ago; and I feel about the same as then, actually. This is the *best* my temps have ever looked as of yet (they're from when I was raising 2.5 mg/day, from 10 to 25 mg; right around the New Year): 97.0 96.9 97.3 97.0 97.3 96.9 > > Sounds liek you are very close to having the stability needed to utilize > thyroid well. I would sya to try the thyroid starting VERY lwo liek 15mg > daikly at first to see if oyu have a reaciton. But I suspect you will > need a tad more HC. Guest guest
And, for a bit more (so sorry for many posts), since I have an update on the 'hyper' bit: I'm pretty sure it was some sort of mini-thyroid dump, and I think it's over. I feel so out of it, that's for sure. I had a couple of days of high temps (after the 97.6 and 98.0, yest. had 98.1), which is what's happened the other times -- two days, and that's it. So far today average is 96.3 (two temps), even with adding B12. My temp dropped after taking the B12 (immediately started feeling really, really cold) and I've gotten stiff, more pain, and shaking again (I was also shaking bad last night, but had stopped this morning). Is it because my adrenals can't handle it? I actually kinda expected another go of high temps/hyperness from the B12. And, just realised: The iron started to get used more (and the high, high temps (while feeling hot/cold) and 'real' hyperness popped up (which might also partly be adrenal...not sure...still rather new to this!)) when I *bumped HC up to 30 mg*. Before that, I just felt too warm with gradually rising temps (over all, by my temp graph). ~Jen
Guest guest
Reading back through this thread I htink you need to be on Iron longer and work oin getting your temps more stable to raise thyroid. The Ferritin of 30 in late December is going to take at least a coupe months ot get upo to better levels. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
