Guest guest
Jane They need the business....lol No, here's the scoop: June 07, 2 CT's. Soft Neck Tissue and Chest to determine if anything there is contributing to problem swallowing. Discover swollen lymph nodes and radiologist reports ILD but no doctors notice that. June 07, 2 CT's. Abdomen and Pelvis to see if swollen lymph nodes there or confined to Neck and Chest. August 07, 2 CT's. Soft Neck Tissue and Chest to follow up on swollen lymph nodes as decision made to monitor and follow them rather than biopsy. August 07, 1 CT. Chest/Lungs with inspiration and expiration. This was after discover of ILD and for Pulmonologist to get a better view. November 07. 2 CT's. Neck and Chest. Repeat CT after VATS in October and to follow up on swollen lymph nodes. Initial decision by oncologist was repeat in two months, then three after that, then six after that. February 07. 2 CT's. Neck and Chest. Repeat CT after six month. April 07. 1 CT. Chest. University of Chicago wanted their own CT done. That leads to October 07. 2 CT's tomorrow. Neck and Chest. Six month follow up wanted by Oncologist. Yes, the exposure to so many CT's is a concern especially when you add in all the CT's of different types I've had and all the xrays. In this same period I've had X-Rays of different types 5 times and a V/Q. These CT's are being repeated based on oncologist need to monitor lymph nodes rather than pulmonologist. Pulmonologist would do them annually at most if even that. His basic feeling is will not find out anything we don't know from my sats and PFT's. The good news to date has been the lymph nodes have not grown so have had no reason to do anything more invasive. They had hoped to sneak a lymph node biopsy in with my VATS but they couldn't reach any easily from where they entered. So the CT's are no big deal and don't really bother me as they are necessary but the sheer number of them is just something that makes me laugh when I think of it. If these are ok (lymph node wise) then I guess I'll see if oncologist wants to repeat again in six months or maybe wait longer next time. I think he'll probably stretch it. > > > > > > After 11 CT's in ten months time I was on a roll. Had my last one in > > April and almost made it through October. Guest guest
Brett I imagine you've had more than your share as well. One thing for sure is that the technician knows me well. I can't have contrast so at least I don't have gallons of Iodine Die running through me. > > > > > > > > > After 11 CT's in ten months time I was on a roll. Guest guest
Peggy I sure don't stress over them...not as many as I've had. I'll be in and out in no time. Besides, I haven't seen the technician for months now so will get to talk to her. > > > After 11 CT's in ten months time I was on a roll.
