Guest guest
Beth, Thanks for your encouraging words, and I look forward to seeing you this weekend. Meanwhile, I'll only be able to see a physician's assistant Friday am about an Rx for 02. Does that sound OK or should I be screaming to see a pulmo? Mine doesn't have an opening for weeks, although there are several others in the group at Duke Raleigh Medicine, and I know that I need 02 now. I'm researching local 02 providers now, so your help this weekend will be perfect. Keep feeling better so I can give you those hugs from Peggy! Guest guest
Dale Are you still coughing up blood? I know the oxygen is an issue but that one is one of concern too. As to whether the physicians assistant is ok. I guess it depends on her knowledge of PF. But then I'm back to the coughing up blood concern too. My ex wife once had a physicians assistant she liked better than her doctor. However, I generally want the doctor, especially on a disease like this one. I fear an assistant who is use to COPD and Asthma and not PF. Just my general feeling, but specific assistant might totally change my opinion. Now, as to pulmonologist booked way out, I was unable to live with not being able to see mine. My previous one was mostly into critical care so I found one who is more office oriented. I think sometimes it even turns into a local doctor for day to day things and a hospital specialist for diagnosis and major issues. I just want to always be able to get to a pulmonologist I trust when I need it. Beth would be far more familiar with local situations. Perhaps a local who you can get into and then go to Duke for major things. > > Beth, > > Thanks for your encouraging words, and I look forward to seeing you this > weekend. Guest guest
Dale, My Dr's assistant ordered my 02 and before I got home from that appointment they were hereputting all this stuff in my house. My husband was here and said I guess this meant you not any better.I used the first Company for a while until I had time to learn what is what with the 02. The thing is lincare or apria stores are so different from city to city. You can always change with aphone call to your Dr. for another RX to be sent. My Dr.'s PA is also who I use for GP purposes. I am healthy other than I have rotten lungs so I don'tneed one (GP) much. In fact I saw my Dr in July because of a little cold and I am not going back until Jan.. YEAH..I had a call from the PA asking when I was due back and I said what would I come for I feelfine. I know there isn't anything they can do for me from this point. She said OK how about Jan. unless you need us.. We're here. I just love having them "ON CALL"which they are. I e-mail and get a response very quickly. I think what I am trying to tell you is don't panic. One day and one problem at a time..Call your Dr. with any problem. You will get the living with information here on this board. The Dr.'s don't have a clue how we do some things.. Hang in. Oh my I'm gabbbbbby today.Love & Prayers, PeggyFlorida, IPF/UIP 2004"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."
