Guest guest
Hi Dawn- First of all, it's great that your son is sleeping through the night with it on. I know I was thrilled when my son did the same. He got his DocBand a month ago. Our therapist told us to do the 3-4 hour checks the first two days, and then if all was fine (no red marks, or red marks that disappeared within an hour) to do 23 hours on day 3. We actually started 23 hours on day 2. After we went in for a quick adjustment, we got the all clear to just leave it on him and check for red spots at the hour off. For the first week, my son also had a little red spot on his forehead bulge. It wouldn't fade completely, but I called the therapist and he said that as long as it did fade some, and didn't get worse, that he would be fine through the weekend (we had our one week check on Monday and I called him on Friday). The red spot faded more and more each day and was fine. I think you're doing great if his red spot is fading in 25 minutes. If you're not quite comfortable leaving it on him for 23 hours today, then just start prolonging the time he wears it before you do a check. So check every 6 hours instead of 3 or 4. If by tomorrow, things are still going well, go every 8 hours or whatever you're comfortable with. Then just call first thing Monday morning. Good luck!
