Good Morning:I found that other states have better prices and deals for renting and buying a chamber. But if we are in Florida, then the shipping cost is too high, it sounds like a dead end but I also found that most of the companies here in Florida are willing to make some discounts for groups and some others have promotions in used chambers. At the end the choice is yours and opportunities are out here when we are ready. Most important, I had visited a very respected DAN doctor a few days ago. He said, Parents need to stick with the therapies that have proven results such as ABA, Speech, OT, etc. If parents can combine effectively oxygen therapies, they need to go for it. He said also: In my experience parents who try the soft chamber are willing to try the hard chamber and stay with it

as soon as they see improvements. Why to try the soft chamber first? he said.Another important aspect that he pointed out is hygiene for the chambers, so please pick up a respected place because remember is pure oxygen and can pick up viruses, etcI highly appreciate all companies that have been posting their services here because helps us to have more information and some of them even went further and want to show the chambers and educate parents. Remember, I am not affiliated with any companies. If do you want to know about more resources, please feel free and e-mail me. I will be happy to share with you at any time.Thank you,Jeannette SuarezAutism Awareness Monuments To: sList Sent: Fri, January 21, 2011 8:53:56 AMSubject: Re: Re: Hyperbaric oxygen chamber Cost and prospects

Thank for your replyI agree with you. The estimated amount of 1,300 is for half of the sessions as I wrote in my other e-mail. Why only the initial half of the sessions? Because it is an intensive therapy and a lot of the protocols may advice to have the first 20 sessions and have about two weeks of break and do the other 20 sessions, which may help other parents to plan. In my experience with other parents, 40 sessions is just the beginning and they come back and do it again whenever they can. With all due respect, I intended to give more ideas to other parents, not to have an answer for my own family. I focus in helping other parents not to help only myself. If my ideas or information could help you in any way or give you more ideas, then that it serves the purpose. As you know, all of

us have different financial needs and as well all our kids are different. We know that noting is free but also there is always help and hope, we just need to find it. I apologize if I did not explain myself enough before. If you have more questions or suggestions, please let me know.Thank you,Jeannette Suarez Autism Awareness MonumentsAdvocateTo: sList Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 5:08:31 PMSubject: Re:

Yes, education is crucial. However, with all due respect, whether or not $1300 (which may or may not be a legitimate figure; it may be only 50% or less of the real figure, if indeed 40 sessions are needed initially) is affordable leads to the question that if a family can afford to spend that kind of money, where is the best place to put it? Obviously, you have answered that question for your own family. Others may not be that certain. There are not many families who can afford to do every alternative intervention out there; most must pick and choose carefully. It is to them that my comments are directed. To: sList Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 3:35:42 PMSubject: Re: Re: Hyperbaric oxygen chamber Cost and prospects

Hi:That is the reason I have been researching the most economical way to do this treatment. One of the things that I proposed was to share the chamber with other parents. The discussion is all over the place but I am not sure if parents have contacted each other or not. Although, I also wrote that If you need someone to coordinate the renting and sharing of the chamber for the parents that will be beneficial and not to leave it a simple post.I have been visiting places that offer oxygen treatment and some of them go up to $60.00 per session (30 to 45 min) in a mild chamber. At the beginning is important to get clearance from the doctor and a protocol to be safe.It is also important to educate yourself from a a good source. As far I understand it is not harmful but all

depends on your child condition. We are taking about 1,300 to cover the basic steps to go up to 20 sessions. Which at some point may be affordable for most of us.Regardless, I also know that there are opportunities to be informed and try some sessions for free to get the family into the experience and decide later when you have the money. It has been posted here from therapy4kids and also they are willing to have a coffee and explain about their program. It is not the only provider that offers that opportunity and economical rate. I am looking for more providers. Money is essential as you know but not less important education.I appreciate your comments.Jeannette SuarezTo: sList Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 1:51:54 PMSubject: Re: Re: Hyperbaric oxygen chamber

I've been listening to all this discussion about HBOT and quite frankly if one follows the advice below, that a minimum of 40 hours is required before one sees results, it will be quite a costly "leap of faith." Any family that has a limited budget to spend on autism therapies should think long and hard about committing so many dollars in one basket, so to speak. Just my two cents. From:

To find out if HBOT is going to be effective for your child all you can do is try it. You will need to make that same leap of faith that the rest of us made when we decided to try it and know that you will need a minimum of 40 hours in the chamber before you will really know, but I started to see real changes in my son around 16 hours. We do one hour a day six days a week. I personally would skip the SPECT scan probably useless.
