Guest guest
If a person has high RT3 and apparently normal thyroid panel values in FT4, FT3, T3 but still experiencing hypothyroid symptoms (such as depression, consistent low body temp, fatigue, etc..) then basically the T3 is unable to be used by the body and just pools in the blood because of the RT3 blocking the receptors... is this correct? I understand that T3 supplementation is undertaken to stop the production of T4 to RT3 and to rid the body of RT3 so that the T3 can become usable again by the body.......so my question is when the RT3 finally clears is it a gradual happening such as the body temperature begins to slowly rise and hypothyroid symptoms slowly disapate or is it a sudden clearing of RT3 (like a light switch being flipped on)and all the t3 that was pooling hits you at once? I know for a fact that my RT3 development was self-induced due to extreme dieting/weight training over many years as well as job stress/sleep derprivation (i work as a federal air marshal)... so because my Rt3 problems is not a true bodily defect and self-induced does that mean that as soon as rt3 clears I can slowly ween off t3 and let my body take over its natural progress again... Im on week 8 of 100mcg of t3 and my body temp has still not raised from the 97's to the 98's.. and I have not once had racing heart, fast pulse (hyper symptoms) so would this mean that i can/should continue to raise t3 until I get some kind of response negative and/or positive? Also, is cortisol supplementation a necessity if mild adrenal fatigue is suspected when trying to clear RT3 using T3? I was experiencing hypoglycemic bouts a few months back and then I started using HC @ 20mg spread throughout the day (prior to T3 use) and amazingly I have not had a single hypoglycemic episode since... I have cut my HC use down to 10mg/day (5mg am/ 5mg pm) but i am thinking of weening completely off....
