Yes, Isocort is OTC. Amazon may have it cheapest - about $32 and

change when I order it, including shipping. Base price seems to be

$27 everywhere. Dr. Rind's site says it usually takes about 10

months to 2 years to heal the adrenals, but he is probably talking

about using stronger HC, and probably other things as well (hebs,

dietary changes, etc). The impression I've gotten is it's NOT a fast

process. Stabilization on an appropriate level of cortisol and

thyroid - reletively fast if you don't have RT3 going on, or other

hormone problems that interfere with things. But true repair of the

adrenals to full capacity on their own? Not fast at all. The STTM

website says a lot of patients find it takes a few months to a year

to get to the point where you can do successfully do a complete wean

- and stay off it for a while without low-cortisol symtoms coming

back with a vengence (my experience).

See this page:

It would be nice if it were a faster process.. Time for some

smart biochemist to figure out the growht factors that CAUSE the

gland to hypertrophy, and then see if they can be administered safely

without doing more harm than good.
