Actually, all grains are better if they are soaked overnight. Grains contain

phytic acid, which prevents their protein from being utilized properly by the

body. Soaking removes the phytic acid and the nutrients in the grains are thus

made much more bio-available. We eat a lot of old fashioned oats or 7 grain

cereal, and we always soak them overnight first. We also sprout a lot and that

has helped our stomach issues also. Another thing that has helped our stomach

issues is kefir. Just making the one change to growing and eating sprouts has

helped my IBS issues immeasurably.

I've seen a lot of people talk about kefir - you too I think Cathy

when I posted at some other point. I've had a baaad IBS night that

started with my dinner of gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and a

protein drink with a big scoop of rice protein and a banana. After

all day with very little trouble, everything since then has been bad.

The kefir that I have seen at the grocery is in a dairy drink of some

kind but that must not be what you're referring to. What should I be

looking for?

Thanks,
