Guest guest
Val, do you have any other articles on low cortisol and high estrogen? I read the one you sent me by Plechner. Actually his article raises more questions than answers, other than that he claims that estrogen, thyroid and immune titers normalized when dogs and cats were given HC, which in of itself is very interesting. He buys into the estrogen dominance theory which is fashionable right now (and tends to equal estrogen is BAD)AND confusing AND which I question. Since he only tests Total estrogen we do not know how much of the estrogen is bound or free for use of the tissues and cells. It may be possible and Plenchner even suggests it that low cortisol may set up some kind of hormonal dysregulation causing diseases such as autoimmune diseases and cancer. In other words like with the thyroid the estrogen may not actually be converted properly and eventhough high it may not actually be available to the receptors and just be floating around in the body. So again like with the thyroid, it is possible that the estrogen receptors may actually be deficient because the estrogen does not go in. HC may be needed for proper absorption of estrogen into the cells. That is an interesting thought to pursue. So if you have any more references for me, I'd much appreciate it. Sorry if I am getting a bit esoteric. Madeleen
