Guest guest
Myxedema causes a thickenoing of the skin, a fatty layer that is actually attached ot rthe skin, high aldosterone and fluid reteniton does not change the skin just the fluid under it. Usually people wiht myxedema skin ALSO have fluid retention so they are often considered one & the same which they are not. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ > cindy, > :)great to hear your story and that you can help your daughter too > just curious if the myxedema of low thyroid is different than the puffy, water retention from aldosterone and cortisol issues? > what were the signs indicating to wean off the hc? > i am not optimized on my thyroid yet, and i get those imprints sometimes too, but its always so hard to tell if stuff is thyroid or adrenal related or a combo. > > > -alexis > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences.
