Myxedema causes a thickenoing of the skin, a fatty layer that is

actually attached ot rthe skin, high aldosterone and fluid reteniton

does not change the skin just the fluid under it. Usually people wiht

myxedema skin ALSO have fluid retention so they are often considered one

& the same which they are not.
