Guest guest
Hello and good luck! We are graduates of the DOC band and I found that sleeping him in feety pjs with no blanket or sleep sack was great. We also bought the target 1 1/2 inch foam and put it on the mattress the first night he was in the band. He never had an issue sleeping and I believe the foam helped. You do not want him to overheat! Overheating is the major cause of SIDS. Try putting a heavy hat on your head, you will see how warm you get. I believe we have about 70 percent of our body heat coming in and out of the head. He will be fine in just the pjs. His helmet will regulate his body to keep warm. We are in NY and have cold weather now and used to keep the thermostat at 68 degrees and sleep him in flannel or heavier cotton disney pjs. He is in them now and is not in a helmet or using a blanket. Try it, he really will not be cold. He may be suffering from being too warm. Heseems to be doing pretty well during the day, but last night was ourfirst night with it on, and we were awake MOST of the night. We triedvarying his layers, switching him from the crib to the swing, andother various tactics. But he just seemed to be uncomfortable formost of the night. I am wondering how much layering people do withthe pajamas. We keep the thermostat at 66 degrees and we normally buton a blanket sleeper, a halo sleep sack and a blanket. Last night weended up removing the blanket and sleep sack. I just felt like hishead may be hot (it was still sweaty) but his body might be too cold??I know I was under 4 blankets myself. Any ideas? How many layers dopeople use in a similar temperature - 66 degrees? Also, do peoplerecommend the memory foam? The helmet just seems uncomfortable on theneck...Thanks so much!Cheryl Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
I agree with Tammy. My son had a Doc band for 12 weeks and he normally slept with a light blanket and feety pjs. We never had any sleeping issues and he always seemed to be comfortable. Lorie Re: question about pajamas for 6 mo old with Starband Hello and good luck! Guest guest
HOnestly - when we had those nights we brought our dd into bed with us. She is a nurser and so the smell of me soothed her. We also dressed her in carter's lightweight pj's. Short sleeves, loose pants, 1 banket.
