Guest guest
My now 14 month old crawled the same way and she did not have tort. But I would definitely bring it up to the PT to double check. Please let us know what they say. Angie 10 mo old w/left tort drags his left leg when crawling - related? My son (10 mos) has left tort and is 2 1/2 months in his helmet. He started military crawling several weeks ago. It has humored me to watch him b/c he scoots on his belly, pushing with his right leg but dragging the left behind. It just dawned on me, though, that perhaps it could be related to his tort? Has anyone had experience with this? We go to CT on Wednesday and to PT on Thursday, but I'd love to hear any thoughts/stories before then. Thanks!! Guest guest
I would definitely ask the PT on Wednesday. Our son army crawled for about 2 months before regular crawling. The PT was not concerned with it only because his army crawl was very symmetrical. OUr son didn't have tort although CT said he had very slight lack of range of motion (which ped. and myself never saw). > > My now 14 month old crawled the same way and she did not have tort. Guest guest
My dd has left tort and right plagio. She never crawled so I can't speak specifically to that - BUT I will say that my dd has always moved the left side of her body differently than her right. She walked almost sideways, etc. We went to a neurologist for this reason - the neuro orderd an MRI of her brain to see if there was any slight brain damage on the rightside. Thankfully, there was not. Then they ordered an MRI of her whole spine from her skull to her hips. WE did find out she has syringmyelia - or abnormal pockets of spinal fluid within her spinal cord. This is what is causing her tort. Anyway, all this to say - you might want to see a neurologist to see if they see what you are seeing in the crawling - and then hopefully get the test needed to rule everything out. HTH!
