Guest guest
They are both happy healthy kids. You definitely wouldn't think that either has a thyroid issue. I tested them because I have a RT3 dominance and probably did while I was pregnant with them. I'm sure I have been hypothyroid for years in addition to having low cortisol and low aldosterone. The only signs I can point to for my girls that might suggest thyroid or adrenal issues is that my oldest daughter has eczema, and they both have food allergies. Otherwise they are very active kids and never complain about being tired. My oldest one does have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, but otherwise she's fine. I'm pretty sure based on their RT3 result being at the top of the range and the fact that their Total T3 is in range that they probably do have an RT3 dominance issue. That's the impression I get from what it says on the RT3 website: " If you only have a T3 reading rather than a FT3 reading then the ratio of T3 to RT3 needs to be 10 or greater. " I really don't want to have to subject them to more blood work if I don't have to. Maybe Nick or Val could shed some light on this. Thanks, Steph > > > Hi Steph, > > > > Yep I think its definately worth getting the Dr. to test FT3 for both your girls as they both seem to have a problem with RT3 and so once you get the FT3 we can help you work out the ratio of FT3/RT3 as its incredibly useful! To feel well the ratio needs to be over 20. > > > > Their potassium levels may need addressing but and Nick will be able to comment further on that. > > > > How do they feel? > > > > Take care, > > > > Josie > > > > To: RT3_T3 > From: steph@... > Date: Fri, 14 May 2010 14:42:25 +0000 > Subject: Both Daughters Have High RT3...Need help interpreting labs > > > > > > I had my two daughters tested for thyroid a couple of weeks ago and here are their test results. Guest guest
Absolutely, I agree! Blood tests are horrible if they are not needed. Yes eczema and food allergies definately sound like hypo symptoms. I'm so glad they are feeling ok! Yep Nick and Val are brilliant lets see what they say.....
