If you can please state what got bettter > or worse. > > 2)How long have you been chelating? > My kids and I started chelating with Andy's protocol in December 2005 and we've done 52 rounds. My youngest kid (8 yo) was struggling with a negative temperment and mood swings. She has improved dramatically. I wouldn't have exactly described her as *unhappy* before, but she is definitely happier now and easier to be around. It's wonderful to see the real kid come out. My older kid (10 yo) didn't present with the behavior challenges my youngest did, so the changes in her are very subtle and seem more like normal maturation. We decided to chelate her due to her exposure to Hg, her hair test results and with the hope to avoid health problems down the line for her (possible depression, allergies, learning disabilities, etc.). I thought I was doing okay before I started chelation (we became interested in it for my youngest), but in hindsight I can see I had lost a lot of my zest for life. I had just stopped doing much, I was feeling irritable a lot of the time, and wasn't looking forward to much. I had chalked up a lot of these feelings to middle age (I'm 43) and life situations. It was a bit of a shock to me to begin to feel less irritable, to find myself having more productive days, to start to plan for the future, to have enough energy and motivation to start riding my bike to work, etc.-----all these changes due to chelating. I think it was easy to dismiss my symptoms because I know a lot of people feel a bit down around mid-life, tired from raising kids, job stress, marriage woes, etc. It seemed normal to me, IYKWIM. Also, I hadn't gotten to the point that I was having a full blown health crisis. But, it's clear to me now that it wasn't the real me, and as I heal I'm feeling more and more like myself. Right now, I'm exploring the state of adrenals and thyroids. It probably would've been overwhelming for me a year ago, however I'd suggest to anyone considering chelation to run those saliva tests for adrenals and thyroid blood spot tests ASAP to avoid needless suffering. Despite having read about adrenal and thyroid problems in Amalgam Illness and here on FDC, I just didn't think it applied to me. I'm expecting that by addressing my low T3 and supporting my adrenals that I'll feel even better---get more energy back and a brighter mood.
