Guest guest
I had bizarre vision problems that arose AFTER my fillings were taken out but BEFORE I started chelating, and they continued even through the beginning of chelation. I had a black spot that looked like a fly that would appear sometimes (so real that I would try to swat it the first few times!). On rare occasions my eyes would feel like they were shaking or twitching. Additionally, I developed severe light sensitivity-- I needed to wear sunglasses for driving even when it was cloudy and raining. I also found that the fluorescent lighting (which supposedly contains mercury?) at my job made me feel dizzy to the point where I almost fainted. This dizziness has gotten much better, but I still feel strange around the lights. Still, chelation has assisted me in ending most of these visual disturbances. Have you had your fillings out? Are you chelating now? jent2921 jent2921@...> wrote: I have these frightening things gradually worsening with my vision. I don't know for sure where they're stemming from. Guest guest
I've experienced all of them, and they were present to ever increasing degrees long before amalgam removal. Random, uncontrolled eyelid twitching stopped immediately after amalgam removal, and I was soon much less sensitive to light to the point of going without sunglasses. Before amalgam removal, I also had occasional, short, odd " flutter " spells where my eyes seemed to be darting back & forth, sideways, for a split second. It was disorienting & annoying. A lot of mysterious things like this disappeared right after amalgam removal, including a blocked off eustacian tube that had affected hearing & comprehension. Foot & hand coordination, or appropriate response to intended movement, came back right away, but on rare occasions there have been slight lapses where I trip or drop something. Same is true with memory. I still lose ability to focus with both eyes as they grow tired reading, and at night have had to read with one eye closed for years. There's a really odd quivering sensation when I'm losing focus, and it's mostly involved in close-up focus. I recently could not adjust to graduated bifocals & couldn't hope to maintain focus through such a small lense space. They created lots of head spinning/disequilibrium, too, which my optometrist said was unusual. I assume this is something to do with eye muscles? The light sensitivity is worse again since starting DMSA, but there isn't much of anything else as far as negative symptoms and I'm more energetic on it and feel lighter as of 4 rounds. Our black spots are called floaters. They've been explained to me but I don't recall that well enough to explain it. Sometimes they can be a sign of a detaching retina, so it's a good thing to let a doctor or eye doctor know about it when you're in. Another thing I have is a really slowed ability to get 'the flash' out of my eyes after photos. Picture sessions at my daughter's wedding last summer were hard to do. Guest guest
I also wear contact lenses, although during chelation I wear my glasses much more often. Is there any connection between contacts and mercury-related eye problems? None of my contact lense products contain thimerosal-- I checked in the ingredients. Could it be listed as something else? > > > >>

Guest guest
Before my fillings were removed I had lost my peripheral vision, my vision was dim and fuzzy and I could not stand light!! After removal...I regained my peripheral vision and clarity..brighter colors, sharper vision. The light senstivity went away with adrenal treatment. Mercury causes adrenal insufficiency and this causes photosensitivity. MS and mercury poisoning are kind of one in the same. Mercury is likely your culprit as it like the eyes! -- In frequent-dose-chelation , " jent2921 " wrote: > > I have these frightening things gradually > worsening with my vision. Guest guest
I didn't and had eye problems. But I know the for those who did, some of the opthamalic solutions used by contact wearers contained a preservative called thimerosal (mercury) up until recently. This would have given them a direct eye source of Hg. > > Do or did either of you wear contact lenses? > > Re: Scary visual symptoms- Mercury poisoning or MS? >

I had lasik and the correction was successful for 8 years, then I had 2 large fillings removed with no precautions at all and I rapidly developed a correction of .75 and .50 with .25 of astigmatism in both.and my vision became dim also. I felt I had been exposed to a large dose of mercury when he drilled them out, which I thought had causesd my sudden visual disturbance. Since lasik also has it's own issues, I don't know, but I feel that colors aren't as bright. I have since had the rest removed more safely and will do chelation asap. Another little tidbit of info, I overheard this at a Naturopathic clinic, I heard the man who works there telling somebody about a lady who had become blind as a result of mercury and she had a colonic there every day for a year and got her vision back. (I'm not sure that's a good idea, I'm surprised it didn't cause other problems). I was thinking that I had read somewhere that sometimes people who do all the right things can't get rid of the mercury symptoms because it is lodged in the intestinal pockets and bowel management would be the only way to remove this. Another thought along that line, I wonder if you are known to be allergic to thimerosol (which I was, I always had to use a special method of disinfecting my lenses because my eyes couldn't tolerate it) does that mean you are more sensitive to mercury in your system? That developed into momentary jabbing pains, flashing lights, and floaters. About 98% of that went away immediately after amalgam removal, and the incidence of those problems keeps declining.
