Guest guest
Val, I really agree about considering body size with dosage. And I can't imagine, at this stage, being able to tolerate the huge chelator doses the book talks about. I hope your longer rounds work better. I must be very lucky that DMSA does not upset my stomache. I'd forgotten that could happen! The strange thing I have noticed, which may be entirely unique to me, is that staying on a low-dose stimulant during rounds & a day or two after, which is dosed simultaneously with thyroid, gets my metabolism going high enough to function, and that I notice no changes at all with 25 mg DMSA. All I have to do is skip one dose of stimulant while chelating, however, and I realize I probably wouldn't be able to do this at all. Without it, anything that 'overloads' me even slightly, including the wrong kind of food, zaps every last bit of energy I have. I've begun studying the liver detox pathways more intently in connection with this, as well as neurohormonal function. I'm certain there are multiple reasons for it, but I've managed to survive and cope with symptoms for many years by exercizing & keep myself moving, and I was always certain I wasn't getting enough blood/oxygen flow to the brain on my own. Mercury (replacing O2) attached to RBC's doesn't seem to adequately explain it. In time I'll be researching this more & will share it with the group, because I believe it's critical our metabolisms are boosted at least into a range where some detox can occur or the process will make us much sicker. You might try sticking with plain meats (or unprocessed vegetarian alternatives), vegetables, fruits, select fats/oils & basic grains as a trial with one chelation round and see if it makes a difference. It doesn't take long to experience whether it makes a difference, and you then find you're more than motivated to make any needed dietary changes. If you're intolerant to something, such as dairy, and don't know it, it may be interfering with your ability to chelate, too. I looked at Dean's website recently and he's got a lot of worthwhile dietary info to explore. I just hope things start going better. I admire your patience. And actually being on 6 mg of dmps is not that bad. I just still notice some effects with it but I guess that's normal? I just took a nap and woke up feeling pretty good - yet I'm still chelating? Yesterday, I was feeling kinda crappy but not now? So, I guess its the ups and downs of chelating. And I'm kind of a small gal - so I'm thinking small doses might suit me better? I mean all sorts of sizes and shapes are using dmps here so a small female wouldn't be nearly at the same dose as a big guy? dmsa upset my stomach and I didn't want to wake up in the night to take it. But I tried it again a few months ago and it wasn't that bad? I think what stephanie said was right - you have all different symptoms when you chelate. So, I'm going to stick with small doses of dmps for now (6 mg) and I'm also going to stretch it out this round - like 5 days instead of 3. so confusing..
