Guest guest
Dear Robyn, I'm still learning but your RT3 is very high! What is happening is T4 is converting into RT3 instead of T3. And what RT3 does is, it blocks the receptors so T3 can't enter your cells and so this is what is making you feel so ill. Unfortunately armour contains T4 and T4 is the pro hormone for RT3 and so what I think you probably need to do is actually go onto T3 only. Maybe you could have a chat with your Dr. and see if he could swap you onto T3 Often when we see such high RT3 levels its often due to low ferritin levels. Have you had your ferritin tested? You are defiantly in the right place to get well Good luck Josie To: RT3_T3 From: robyn212201@...Date: Fri, 14 May 2010 15:27:38 +0000Subject: My lab results -what do you think I finally got my lab results -I'm 50 and post menopausalT3 2.6 2.3-4.2 rangeT4 Free 1.13 .80-1.80 rangeTSH .73 .35-5.50TPO <10 0-35 rangeAnti-Thyroglublin <20 0-40 rangeT3 Reverse 635 90-350 rangeestradiol 4.3 .5-1.7 rangeprogesterone 18 12-100 rangeratio pg/E2 4L Range Optimal 100-500tesosterone 33 range 16-55dheas 2.2 range 2-23cortisol morning 7.9 range 3.7-9.5cortisol noon 2.1 range 1.2 -3.0cortisol evening 1.0 range .6-1.9cortisol night 1.4 range .4-1.0my doctor is having me continue on armour thyroid 90 mg. dailybioidential progesterone 100 mg orally every dayestriol cream every other daydouble up on daily vitamin, fish oil, vitamin C, magneisiumdiet no sugar, alcohol, caffeine, red meat, dairy, artificial sweetenersI'm supposed to take extra fiber a few times a day.So, does this sound like a good protocol to follow to heal. Guest guest
She said my RT3 was the highest she had ever seen. I don't know if she tested iron or not. I am supposed to double up on my daily vitamin that she gave me, so perhaps she is covering that there. I am hoping these migraines are related to the RT3 or the progesterone might help. I've been miserable for about a year and a half. I've been on the progesterone for 9 days and am still having headaches. I have horrible migraines about 3-4 days a week. I guess I just expect things to get better over night and I have to give it time. Guest guest
Perhaps you could ask your Dr. to do a full iron panel (including ferritin) Do you avoid wheat and gluten? I really think getting on T3 alone could make A LOT of difference but you need to know your ferritin levels first. Guest guest
Perhaps you could ask your Dr. to do a full iron panel (including ferritin) Do you avoid wheat and gluten? I really think getting on T3 alone could make A LOT of difference but you need to know your ferritin levels first. Unfortunately armour contains T4 and T4 is the pro hormone for RT3 and so what I think you probably need to do is actually go onto T3 only. Guest guest
I am thinking of just stopping the Armour Thyroid. I have never been diagnosed as needing it based on labs. Doctors only recently gave it to me the past 8 years or so based on symptoms. I had 3/4 of my thyroid removed about 28 years ago. NO Keep feeding that with T4 from the Armour and it will keep making more RT3. The protocol described on this site www.thyroid-rt3.com Of T3 only is the way you need to go.
