Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Yessss, it is definitely worth having tested. You didn't say, but if you have been on synthetic thyroid hormone for 25 years, this test will be invaluable to you to show adrenal fatigue and what stage you are in. Let me give you some hope - when you get adrenal support (if necesary) and get onto natural thyroid hormone, you may find that you can function again. I have read on these lists of people with CFS/FMS who have had their symptoms go away with proper treetment. I have post polio syndrome and very weak muscles, but even that is better since taking Armour thyroid. Best to you, >>>I am new, Hiya to all I have hypothyroid over 25 years and I have got to a state where I am totally disabled now. I have been diagnosed with CFS/Fm on top of it all. I am in pain, I have breathing problems, high bp and actually many times feel as though I am dying. I decided to order a saliva test for my birthday as that is the only way I can afford one, and if it helps my health it is worth doing without a present for. What I wondered with the adrenal panel is what is shows you, particularly the slgA, what is that for and is it worth having or is the basic panel better? Guest guest
HI Thanks so much for your answer. I have been on Levothyroxine yes all that time with a slow decline in functioning, every so often something else seems to crop up to make me feel worse. Until this last year when I have just about ground to a halt. My last bloods were as follows bloods as 1/2/2008 tsh 6.99 (0.300-5.000) ft3 4.8 (3-6.1) ft4 17.8 (10.0-24.0) cortisol 279 (am 139 690) ferritin 61.8 (10.0 150.0) my temperature this morning was 97.4, I am aching all over, my voice is hoarse and I keep needing to sleep. I am so glad you have found a way to feel better and I hope to follow you in that luv Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, You are very hypo. No wonder you feel unwell. I had taken T4 only for 42 years until I found these forums last summer. We feel best if FT4 is in the upper 3rd of the range and FT3 is at the top or slightly over the top of the rannge. Your ferritin could stand to be 70-90 as well. I'm glad you are going to to the saliva testing. That is the best way to go about getting started on this journey. If you have yet to read www.stopthethyroidmadness.com site, it's packed with wonderful information. Then, go to www.drrind.com and graph your temps. That and BP and symptom relief are what we go by. BTW, I'm not there yet, meaning everything is optimal, but I have hope that I will get there. - - - bloods as 1/2/2008 tsh 6.99 (0.300-5.000) ft3 4.8 (3-6.1) ft4 17.8 (10.0-24.0) cortisol 279 (am 139 690) ferritin 61.8 (10.0 150.0) my temperature this morning was 97.4, I am aching all over, my voice is hoarse and I keep needing to sleep. Guest guest
Ok it seems to be to do with antibodies. I cannot understand then why it is added to adrenal panel saliva testing for an extra fee? Would it be best just to have the adrenal panel alone? Wht extra benefit is there in testing this and has anyone had theirs done to any benefit? luv Dawn
