Guest guest
Janie over on the thyroid group said the weight gain is likely not from the HC but from the HC starting to work and then the thyroid goes hypothyroid so you need to up your thyroid meds. This could explain why not everyone gains and those of us in worse stages or with more issues do gain. I lost weight initially then gained by the 3rd week and kept gaining, but I know I am more hypo too. The only real gain from HC is when the dose is way too high for way too long and that is definitely not the case with me. I will say I do like the weight gain in my arms. They were so scrawny before and now actually look nice. The rest I could do without though, lol. Cheri -----Original Message----- I don't think that weight gain is a given, just likely if you end up on a high/too high dose for too long. Since starting Armour in August and Isocort in late September, and then HC in November, I have lost 15 pounds and cholesterol has dropped over 50 pounds. I have also radically changed my diet, pretty much eliminating gluten and trying to eliminate dairy, and eating as much protein as I can get and fat. So, I'm not sure what to attribute the weight loss to, but HC has had the most dramatic effects on me on a day-in, day-out basis. .
