Guest guest
I have both gained and lost weoight on HC and it depends onthe state of your Thyroid which it is. The people that gain weight are one of two thing, too low in thyroid, which is MOST commong, or too high on HC.When I lost weight I was taking 30MG HC daily and I lost 70 pounds. I found the magic perfect that we are all hunting for felt good and the metabolism kicked in. Then I weaned off HC probably too fast, adn then had a major stress. My adrenals crashed as I did nto stress dose at this stress (my grandmother who raised me was dying) and here it si 14 months later and i am just now getting ot the weaning stage again. I did gain back 40 of the 70 I lost, but this is not unusual for me. Over the years my weight has yoyo'd sometimes 100 pounds at a time when my metabolism tires to work I lose, when it stops I gain.. NO MATTER what I eat or what meds I am on. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
FWIW, I have not gained weight since starting HC several months ago. I'm on 20mg. Guest guest
, Since I started Cortef I have lost 15lbs. It may be because I am not in bed as much, it may be because the thyroid hormones are being able to be utilized now, I don't know. I am actually trying to not lose anymore because I cant afford the clothes. Just wanted you to know that not everyone is gaining. Guest guest
I don't think that weight gain is a given, just likely if you end up on a high/too high dose for too long. Since starting Armour in August and Isocort in late September, and then HC in November, I have lost 15 pounds and cholesterol has dropped over 50 pounds. I have also radically changed my diet, pretty much eliminating gluten and trying to eliminate dairy, and eating as much protein as I can get and fat. So, I'm not sure what to attribute the weight loss to, but HC has had the most dramatic effects on me on a day-in, day-out basis. > > I keep reading posts about all the weight gain folks on HC experience & I am > terrified the same thing will happen to me. Guest guest
Wow, . 100 lbs is a big fluctuation in weight. Has that caused any other health issues for you? I think 40 lbs is my maximum fluctuation and I thought that was pretty high. I just weighed myself and actually have lost 3.5 lbs since my last weigh in 2 weeks ago. The only thing different is I switched from 35 mg Isocort to 35 mg HC cream. So maybe the cream is just working better and my metabolism is better. Still can't close my jeans though, lol. Guest guest
Aside from tattoo on my lower cheek changing size, no health problems except when i am too heavy as I am now. I get veyr short of breath form the weight and I also feel alot more tired wen I am heavy whether this is from the lower metabolism that caused the weight gain or just from the excess weight I do not know. AT 24 years old I dieted for a year and lost 120 pounds, then slowly regaind back to 240 pounds, then went to160 which I held for quite a while then back to 220 then went to 170 a couple years agothen up to 220 and now at 202. I have ALWAYS kept 4 sizes of clothes in my closet! lol -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
, Look at it this way. Even if you do gain weight at first on the HC (not saying you will), you can lose it again once you get all your medicine properly optimized. So far I haven't gained any since starting HC. I haven't lost any either. Personally, even if I did gain some it would be worth it to me if I could just feel good again. I'm not saying that I wouldn't like to be thinner. Lord knows I would, but I would much rather be healthy and weigh more than be thinner and not be in the shape I've been in. I actually did lose some weight when I hit my wall and crashed this past Fall. But I also felt the worst I have in years which is saying something. :-) I figure I'll focus on one thing at a time. Right now it is getting my HC dosage right. Once that is accomplished, I'll move on to my thyroid (assuming I'll need it). And so on. Small short term goals for me! Cherie Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.--C.S. > I keep reading posts about all the weight gain folks on HC > experience & I am > terrified the same thing will happen to me.
