Hey, Dean:

Thanks for sharing your story. I would like to know how your life is

on a daily basis. Do you have a " plan " to help you when things are

really bad. Are most days affected by all your physical/mental

problems at once or is it more like 2 or 3 things at a time?

What meds are you on and which ones seem to help with which problem

the most. Do you have a partner or significant other to help? How

old are the children and how do you view parenthood?

I ask these questions not to be nosey - so please don't answer if you

would rather not - I ask just to get to know you better.

My heart goes out to you, and I wish you well.

Thank you again for sharing your story,

Pam

Wisconsin area and currently that is where I reside. I am a husband

and later on the mental problems became more evident. Right from

birth my troubles began. I was born cross-eyed and had sugery when I

was three to correct it. As I was growing up I had problems with both

my legs and feet. I was always told it was growing pains by my

doctors. I found out later it might have been arthritis. Then I

battled against Lyme Disease in 1979-1980 which left me with

additional joint problems. It was not diagnosed until a doctor got

courious and did some blood tests and discovered the Lymes Disease.

They were not sure how long I might have had it. In 1990 I started to

develop serious back problems and in 1991 I fell down an embankment

at work during a snowstorm and severely injured my right knee. After

several surgeries they put pins and plates in. In 1982 I was

diagnosed with Arthritis. Additionally, I was diagnosed with

degenerative disc disease in 1998. Mental Illness became apparent in

1993 when I was diagnosed with depression. Then in 1997 I was

rediagnosed with having major depression and anxiety disorder. I have

been hospitalized multiple times due to major depression attacks and

suicide attempts. In 2000 I was diagnosed with having Fibromyalgia. I

am living in constant pain. Due to these illnesses, which still

plague me, I am unable to work a normal job. I am under doctors

restrictions.

Dean, Welcome to our list. You have really had a bad life where pain is

concerned. We are glad to have you. This is a supportive, caring and loving

Welcome Caroline..I am Missy the sporadic poster, lol..Mom to 5 who homeschool

up until this year when we moved to a rural area and hubby wanted to try out the

local school system, mine are (13, confirmed ADHD), Rob(11, no dx, but

" fairly normal " but represses emotions till it makes him sick(gee could he get

that from mom)), aka JB( 9, my baseball boy, possible ADHD, but doing so

excellent without a formal dx and meds that we are leaving it alone for now),

(7, undetermined learning disability..2nd year in 1st, still cannot read

well and might possibly be held back this year ..trouble is spelling, can spell

them outloud perfectly, but can't seem to get them on to paper spelled

correctly) and last is my baby Ash aka Demon child aged 2 1/2..no dx yet, but

thanks to the help of my dear friend Georga who led me here and judging from

what I have learned from these ladies here we have a possible autism(high

functions) and/or aspersers..or it could simply be she is just a strange child

with ADD or ADHD?? who knows yet..

As for me I have a panic/anxiety disorder and doc has just decided that my

depression was dx'd wrong and it is actually rapid cycling bipolar

depression..just started a new med for it 3 days ago(blech to side

effects)..sorry to be so long rambling..welcome to the group..these are

wonderful women here!! anything you are going thru SOMEONE here will

understand(such as when Ash ate cow poop from the garden the other day...or eats

her peanut butter sandwiches off a hair pick)..we are all in the trenches

together, so glad to have another here to share with...make sure to check out

parenting phrases, lol..those things you thought you would never have to say as

a parent..they can get really funny, gross, etc..as only people who live with

kids like ours could understand...

Hello Carolyn and any other new people I have missed recently.

Most folks use a sig line but the few of us that are mothers of many

do not, so I will list everyone and give brief intros.

now. He has a daughter, , from a previous marriage that is 23,

married and the momma of an eighteen month old.

paper), anxiety with panic attacks. High school next year.

Hi Carolyn.

I normally don't post an introduction because I don't know what to say but

today I decided to make a go of it.

I am sitting here watching Wrestlemania, all upset becase we are almost an

hour and a half into it and no one has hit anyone with a chair yet. This

just isn't right!

You will find I have a very strange sense of humor, and the rule isn't I am

not allowed to scare the new people. LOL!

Well, now I am going to scare you. I have seven children. 5 girls, 2

boys...the oldest is 9, the youngest is 2. Savannah (8) has a confirmed dx

of ASD, we are in the testing process for Cheyenne (4) because she needs

speech therapy. I am pretty sure that Sierra (5) is pretty high functioning

and the first person that tells me Dalton (2) is normal is getting punched.

It is very painfully obvious that he is autistic that doing testing would be

nothing more than a formality and an exercise in how much abuse I can take

from stupid people. Dakota (3) and Cherokee (7) are my normal children,

albiet very weird normal children and Atlanta (9) is the moody, bratty,

mouthy, pre-teen (well, I guess that is pretty normal).

I am a SAHM, I homeschool, sell Usborne books and live in a zoo of 9 cats,

10 gerbils, 9 guinea pigs, 1 ferret, 1 iguana, 2 turtles and 1 weiner dog

puppy.

that it was at 37 animals or something...I know a few kitties have passed on,

but that still seems like too few animals for some odd reason..

Prevacid is a pregnancy risk category B....which

generally is considered safe in pregnancy. (that is the

Introduction

Hi All,

I'm new to this list and am horribly grateful to have found it. I had RNY

on Jan 15, 2003 and am down about 76 pounds. Just found out last week that

I'm pregnant (my first pregnancy ever). Currently, I'm 6 weeks or so along

and have been roundly chastised by my surgeon for getting pregnant. For

what it's worth, it was a complete accident but here we are and I'm getting

excited.

I'm anxious to hear from anyone else who is in the same situation as I am.

Part of my post-op regimen is to take Prevacid every day. Does anyone know

if this is harmful to a developing fetus? I've got a call in to my

pharmacist (surgeon didn't know) but thought I'd check in here. I've

stopped for now. I also take a multi-vitamin and two CitriCals. Nothing

else, though.

Did anyone alter their diet to eat a more rounded diet rather than just

protein, protein, protein? I figure the baby won't do so well on a diet of

string cheese and chili...so I'll have to change something!

So far, I feel terrific. No nausea, no soreness, just lots of frequent

urination and no period. Aside from the positive test, I wouldn't believe I

was pregnant. My first OB appt is not until July 22 so I'm just gathering

information until then. Do many folks like us go to specialists or

high-risk docs? Any information would be great - thanks!!

Daaaaaaannnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!! I'm SO glad you and decided to join the

group. I know how scared you both are right now, but you honestly couldn't

be in a better place! There are SO many women here who conceived early on

after WLS, and hopefully the couple that I know of who conceived before

surgery and didn't know it are still lurking around and will post.

You will find a wealth of information here, probably more then you would

LIKE to hear LOL.......Hang around, read, post, whatever you need to do.

And remember, you are always in my thoughts and prayers and I just KNOW

everything will be ok. So glad you are here!!

Love ya!!!

Tiana~

Hello and Welcome!

I just wanted to share that my OB said it could take up to 18 months

for my body to start Ovulating again after coming off Depo shot. I

started having periods, but was NOT ovulating. My last shot was in

December, was due for one in March...got my period in April.

Started Clomid in July and here I sit in October I found myself

pregnant after 3 cycles of Clomid 50mg and a HSG in September. If

you are wanting to get pg within a year, you may need some help

getting your body to do what it needs to Ovulate.

Hope this helps and i wish you the BEST!
