Guest guest
Helena, if we could all talk our docs int9 prescribing there would be no need fo rthe source list everyine is asking for. Sorry I am no help here, but for starters, you might buy her the book " Safe USes of Cortiosl " as that is one of the best to bgive adoctor to help convince them, or ther is Your thyroid nad How to Keep it Healthy by Dr Peatfield. Not as pricey as Safe Usues of Cortils and written by a respected long time endocrinologist. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Yes, you hand the doctor these books, and then ask for a " trial, therapeutic dose. " Those are the magic words. You say you would just like to TRY it, and see if it makes you feel better. If it makes you feel worse, of course you'll stop, but if it makes you feel better, well isn't that the whole reason you're at the doctor's? For medication that helps with your condition? If you use those words and ask in a nice way, you might get a prescription for a very SMALL amount, certainly not enough for your needs, but then you come back a few weeks later and tell them how much better you're feeling, and ask if they could increase your dose. If there is some measurable data you can show them, like better BP, temps, HR, weight, anything, that would lend credibility to your argument. Keep in mind though, that some doctors are absolutely intransigent in their " NO, " and no amount of arguing with books to back you up will work. Then you just have to find another doc. Guest guest
The cream is OTC 1% Hydrocortisone cream available in most pharmacies. You would apply it just like any hormone cream to areas of smooth skin on the body such as inner arms, inner thighs stomach. I think either a dosing syringe or a sacle to weight it is the most accurate ways to dose it as 1/4 tsp equals 10MG HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
