Guest guest
Stress is one of the causes of RT3. There's a good list of causes here at Moderator Nick's website: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/whatare1.htm In my opinion, and I don't have any studies to back this up, yes, unbalanced sex hormones will contribute to RT3. I feel that unbalanced sex hormones have to be a constant stress on the body. We don't know all the causes of RT3, there is still a lot to be learned here. I would bet that Val has corrected all known causes that it is possible to correct, yet she still can't take any T4 at all; it turns into RT3 immediately. > > Trying to determine the cause of my RT3. Currently I'm supplementing for HC, so right now I don't have high or low cortisol and I'm not following any extreme diet and I'm sneaking up on 50, so aging doesn't appear to apply. > > My A1c is 5.5 (4.8-5.6) > Ferritin 99 (13-150) > Hemoglobin 13.9 (12.0-16.0) > In April B12 was over 2000 (I'd been taking myers cocktails). Otherwise, it was running slightly over 1000. > > The only thing I can see that might apply is stress. Guest guest
Thanks, Margery - I hope it is the unbalanced sex hormones, because I've really worked on reducing the stress and I just find it hard to believe that I'd have to go further than I have. ON the other hand we have a way to go with the sex hormones. I looked at all the documented causes on Nick's site and just really don't see anything else that applies. Although I don't know what " free radical load " means - so that could possibly be something. But thank you for your opinion on the sex hormones. I was completely tanked on estrogen and testosterone and while we are seeing an increase, the free testosterone still won't budge. More time, patience, and supplementation is required, I think.
