Guest guest
My prescribing doc told me to expect an adjustment period of weeks to months when starting HC. This may have been specific to me because I have severe MCS and am highly reactive to any changes I make in my supplement/medication regimen. My adrenals were in bad shape by the time I started HC and I had a really really rough time getting started, starting at 2.5mg and work my way up to my current dose. I tried, on a couple occasions, to increase more quickly than the 2.5mg and it was a disaster with complete inability to sleep, agitation, shaking, etc. Once I accepted the fact that I, personally, would have to go really slowly with my increases, things went more smoothly and decreasing my dose when I realized I had increased too quickly made things easier without any bad consequences. I am taking Adrenal Cortex Extract as well and starting and increasing that dosage was no different than with HC. I also had an issue with the diluent/filler that was used in my first compounded prescription of HC and had to obtain a new script with a different diluent. I found that my yeast symptoms improved as I adjusted to my HC dose, but chelation still causes major flare-ups and I am told to expect it to continue until I am farther along with chelation. Guest guest
I spoke to the compounding pharmacist and am still waiting to hear from my dr. The compounding pharmacist said that the hydrocortisone may be depressing my immunity causing the yeast. She feels I should continue to take it because I need it for my adrenals because they are not functioning. She felt I should talk to the dr. about taking something for the yeast. I know the yeast problem was there even before, but I think it just worsened it a bit. So I plan on continuing to take it and am waiting to hear from my dr. She did say that when I eventually come off they will wean me off very gradually. I know some of you are getting better sleep with they hydrocortisone, but I seem to be waking up a few times per night (and I had been sleeping before). I think I need to try to get to bed before 10:00 and it is a bit better then. I do have more energy than I did at night and am more functional when it comes to getting household things done then. Thank you all for your support and feedback. > > My prescribing doc told me to expect an adjustment period of weeks > to months when starting HC.
