Guest guest
Good aftercare, school holiday camps and summer camps for working parents. Providing ABA therapy and trainings to families who cannot afford it. Job training for older kids transitioning out of high school. Just the first three that come to mind. Guest guest
Pragmatic social skills training, training for parents, educators, and caregivers on ABA principles, respite services, and summer camps that are both academically challenging as well as socially fulfilling. Guest guest
FYI…ARC Broward’s Community Mental Health Center offers these services (individual and/or family counseling) to individuals with developmental disabilities (including Autism) and/or their family members through generous funding by the United Way of Broward County. Please contact Desire Hill or Jennet at ARC ext. 4113 if you are interested in these services. Guest guest
My daughter is 16 verbal and yearns for typical peers (she made in Middle school from peer counselors.) Now, in HS and other than Best Buddies no assistance w/mainstreaming. In VE classes and one elective but she chooses to be with special need's peer b/c no help (school won't assist!) Lunch same situation, I would like to see peer buddies in HS too.Sent from my Samsung Epicâ„¢ 4G wrote: Pragmatic social skills training, training for parents, educators, and caregivers on ABA principles, respite services, and summer camps that are both academically challenging as well as socially fulfilling. Guest guest
I am a Registered Nurse and also the parent to a six year old nonverbal autistic child. I could also assist you in your journey. This site has been awesome for me with great information and resources!!! I think respite care is huge and so is ABA therapy offered at affordable rates. I have also seen many activites in Broward, would like to see some in Miami Dade County. Have available autistic camps and programs with "SPECIALIZED AND EXPERIENCED" personnel in autism. I put that in quotes and big letters because some places claim they are ready for our children and trust me they are not or may not. Thanks. Please pass on my information. Besides im the parent of a child on the spectrum as well Let me know how I can help.
