Guest guest
Sorry I think that last link was the wrong one. Here is the right one http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;112/1/199 Quick summery: I found this article when I was researching the Helmets and wondering why the particular neurosurgeon I saw was so against them. From my research I found that the AAP has no problem with the helmets being used, and that they in fact cause no harm (my main concern) and that they can help to prevent some of the side effects of deformational plagiocephaly, when repositioning has not improved head shape. It helped me to know that the AAP was not against their use. But the other article was interesting as well. It also talked about a greater prevalence of learning disability in children with plagio than their siblings. Which is something of interest, having grown up with a learning disability myself, I will definitely keep an eye out. Like plagio, early intervention is best with LD as well.
