Have been having so many I described some of my reactions here: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/message/15507 The first dose (of 1.25 mg) was the worst - I shivered for at least an hour - maybe close to 2 after taking this, along with the other symptoms described in the link. Also had strange pressure in my throat - don't think I mentioned that in the linked post. I dropped to .625 mg for a few doses after this. I have gradually worked the dose up to 15 mg. First I did increments of .625, then 1.25, then 2.5 mg. Gradually the odd symptoms diminished and I no longer get them - maybe a little bit if I am looking for them, but really, really minor. I don't think it can be chemical sensitivity in my case because (I assume) the symptoms would be worse with increased doses. I guess I was just sensitive to the cortisone itself? > problems with it. Very definate yeast increase and only a few other > benefits e.g. bit more energy and slight weight gain. Now getting itchy rash on arms and Are you on a good anti-yeast diet? Probiotics, antifungals? I started sleeping better after I got my dose up to about 10 mg. My weight hasn't changed so far. I am not sure about yeast - I have had some days recently when I woke up with a puffy belly, but I have cheated a little bit on diet, too. The puffiness goes away with extra probiotics, etc. But I have noticed it several times recently...so I'm watching that. > increased psoriasis on scalp. Don't push the dose higher than you are comfortable, but I would say don't drop it, either, especially in the middle of amalgam removal which is a lot of stress. -- > either. Have you looked into supporting your liver pathways? If I remember correctly the sulfation pathway has a lot to do with cortisol. Your can supplement that with regular doses of Epsom salts (or 2 baths a day in it) or Glucosamine sulfate. Other liver pathways should be looked into to. Guest guest
I am also very chemically sensitive and having similar problems like you. At first, I thought it was helping. I do have some more energy at certain times of the day. But my yeast worsened, and I get a reaction each time after I take the hydrocortisone (tired, brain fog, pressure behind eyes, throat feels swollen at times). It scares me because I know I will not be able to just stop taking it like I do with other things that cause me reactions - I know I will need to wean off when the time comes. I do have a little bit more energy on it but don't like the hypersensitivity reactions to it. I called the dr. and she wants me to keep taking it to support my adrenals. But I am scared that worsening yeast will worsen my hypersensitivities overall. I need to take something to treat the yeast too - haven't done that yet. > > Has anyone had trouble trying to metabolise the hydrocortisone. Guest guest
Spoken with Andy and he said liver function improves during chelation so I am sure this will help me. I find lots of different varieties of probiotics helpful, the best ones for me being floraguard and prodophilus from the Candida Wellness Centre in Utah. I would have been lost without them. I realise now I was increasing the HC too fast for my body and will now slow down and wait for reactions to subside before I increase. I do get a bit hyper, anxious, irritable when I increase and I know others seem to get that too. So nice others have had reactions like me compared to those that seem to get instant relief, I have always been sooooo sensitive to everything. If things dont improve I will go back to the HC cream.
