Guest guest
, I was interested to hear about possible cellulitis - structural defect linkage. To give the full story of my family example: My (late) nephew fractured was (probably) one of twins one of whom was miscarried at about 6 wks, was born with a patent ductus arteriosis (?! IS this right? hole-in-the-heart) and operated on at 10 weeks, got osteomyelitis a bit later that year, fractured his skull in his first week at school, and then started getting cellulitis - about once every 2 years, 4 different sorts of IV antibiotics every time, always in about the same place (round the ear - they were always concerned that it would spread to the eye). Just before our wedding he had a major problem with his ear (and I CAN'T remember if it was the same one) - fluid leaking from a hole in the oval window, so his inner ear was basically taken out and patched up and put back in again. He lost the hearing in it. He went on to see tertiary specialists in case this was a congenital defect which could crop up in his other ear, but the final conclusion was no, it wouldn't. I've always wondered just how much damage that blow on the head aged 5 caused. And re. Plain - no, wasn't me, but I'm always scouring the 2nd hand Children's bookshops off Charing X road! Let me know if you find them! But someone once told me that >they were a bit sad and draggled. Do you remember? > >Anneliese (part-time) SAHM to Baby Tim (18/9/99), member, Alton, Bordon and >district branch Funny you should mention that - I've been trying to track some of those down as they were one of my favourites when I was little. Both the UK second hand copies listed on the wonderful sites I found thanks to nct-coffee had just been sold - wasn't you that pipped me to the post was it? Deeply unfashionable now I would have thought - was reading The Happy Lion to DS1 for the first time last night, which talked about how the lion lived in a nice cosy zoo instead of the nasty dangerous wild! -- jennifer@...
