Guest guest
We desperately need a private school for our middle and high school students with ASD as the Broward Schools only offer SVE and inclusion programs for our children. To: sList Sent: Wednesday, May 9, 2012 9:40:23 AMSubject: Mailman Segal Center @ NSU explores viability of private school for children with autism The Mailman Segal Center for Human Development at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is exploring the viability of expanding services for young children with autism or related disabilities, to include a private, fee-based, school for preschool- and kindergarten-age children. The proposed program would provide families with an exclusive educational opportunity for their children who are unable to learn in a traditional preschool or kindergarten setting. The school would offer an individualized approach using nationally recognized evidence-based practices. If interested, please contact, Lieberman, Ed.S. CCC-SLP, at or email nlieberm@.... Guest guest
Although the Baudhuin Preschool is part of the Mailman Segal Center (which is part of Nova Southeastern University and therefore considered a private entity) the preschool program for children with autism at Baudhuin is a public school program funded by Broward County Public Schools. As such, it is the district who places students at Baudhuin after establishing eligibility and need for services. On the other hand, the new school under consideration would offer educational services to both preschool and kindergarten age children with autism or related disabilities through a new fee-based program not affiliated with Broward County Public Schools. For more information please feel free to contact Ms. Lieberman, Ed.S. CCC-SLP, at or email her at nlieberm@... > > Are they not affiliated with Baudhuin which is not private? > > > > >________________________________ > > From: Manny -Abreu > >To: " sList " sList > > >Sent: Wednesday, May 9, 2012 9:40 AM > >Subject: Mailman Segal Center @ NSU explores viability of private school for children with autism > > > > > > > > > > > >The Mailman Segal Center for Human Development at Nova > Southeastern University (NSU) is exploring the viability of expanding services > for young children with autism or related disabilities, to include a private, > fee-based, school for preschool- and kindergarten-age children.
