Great idea. I did the same thing for my 12 yr old aspergers. I started a group from my son's social skills class.

These are kids with Aspergers and High functioning. We organize meetups for these kids once a month.

We meet once a month for playgroups such as parks, swim, bowling or just plain dinner.

Currently we have 5 kids in the group.

Most of the parents and kids are from south palm beach county with few of them in the Boca Raton area.

It gives the kids an oppurtunity to meet up and make new friends.

Please email me privately if any one with kids (12-15yr old Aspergers/HFA) would be interested.

Hi there,My 5-year-old daughter was diagnosed with aspergers. She's very high functioning, just struggles with her emotional control and inappropriate social interactions. She will be entering kindergarten in southern palm beach county in the fall in a regular class. I would love to start a playgroup for her that includes other high functioning kids with similar issues. I envision this to be a small group that meets up monthly (maybe on the weekends if that's easiest for everyone) at either a park or a member's house. It would be for me as much as for her, since I would really like to give and get support from other parents with similar kids.I'd like to try to limit this group to southern palm beach and northern broward so that people don't have to drive all over for the get togethers. Delray, Boca, Coconut Creek, Deerfield, etc. That area is what would work best for me. Anyone else interested and in these areas with kids
