An SSRI like Zoloft may mellow you out until you get the Hg out. I have been

able to cut my pills in half without the anger and irritation I used to get.

The only thing different is that I've been detoxing with an infrared sauna, EDTA

and now DMSA. When I tried reducing my dose of zoloft before, my wife could

always tell and would threaten to divorce me if I didn't go back to the full

dose.

It makes me wonder about how many people's anger problems are related to lead

and mercury.

RO

Raging Emotions

I am at a loss. Everytime I chelate I have a different or new side

effect. This one has to be by farthest the worst. I did take two

weeks off in between rounds...but I am so filled with anger and rage

I am a monster to my kids and I am crying in between.

I have great kids and they don't deserve this, but at the littlest

thing...I completely lose it. Could it be exaggerated because I am

just ending menstruation? It feels like the volume of my emotions

have been turned all the way up!

I thought we were supposed to feel terrific on rounds???? I just

spent 15 minutes screaming and lecturing my 9 yr old daughter until

she cried about " disrespect " because I told her she had to go to bed

because it was 8:30 and she relied, " it's 8:27 " .

Now I just want to go in and hug her and have a good cry.

I also noticed I want to cancel everything I have planned this week

and just want to stay home and not see anyone. have avoided people

all day!

I don't want to stop the round...it has been so slow going as it

is...(3rd round of 16mg DMSA/ALA)

Any input is appreciated.

>I can so relate to this. I have three young children. When I am

chelating I can lose it so easily - I even surprise myself with the

speed and intesity. Yeah, I feel bad afterwards, but you have to

remember it's not you, it the mercury. Life is tough when you're

mercury poisoned in what should be the busiest time of your life, and

this should never have happened to you or anyone. Difficult to

explain to the kids.

Try lowering the dose, and take things easier on yourself. I find

there is actually only a few times a month when I can chelate - my

hormones are a mess, so anything from day 14-23 is out for me, and I

generally do a round from day 23 onwards. That's without being

disrupted by colds and viruses that the kids bring home. Chelation

will be a slow process for me.

Hang in there. You are not alone :o)

An SSRI might work, as another poster suggested. But instead of taking

a dangerous drug that artificially raises serotonin in your brain,

maybe you can try 5-htp, which raises serotonin directly because its

the building block your body/brain uses to convert directly into

serotonin.

Oh, and yeah, I sure can relate to the rage you are feeling. For the

first year that I screwed myself up from a DMPS challenge test, I could

easily fly off the handle at just about anything. What made it worse

was that I often realized I was being a jerk over nothing but was, in

the moment, powerless to stop.

5-htp has made a huge difference with that, as well as helping me feel

generally much better mentally and emotionally. When i've tried

cutting it down, or out, I suffer pretty badly.

i've had good luck with the swansons brand 100mg extra strength

variety. if you sign up for the newsletter, you'll get notification of

when they go on sale. they just finished up a 2 for 1 deal on this

stuff!

This is what happens to me when I get a yeast flare. It feels awful!

Can't stand anyone touching me, any kind of noise, anyone asking me to

do *anything...not so great for a mom.

> I thought we were supposed to feel terrific on rounds????

I never have. I'm slowly getting better, I can tolerate high doses of

chelators, but have never gotten the good on-round feeing that my son

does.

> Now I just want to go in and hug her and have a good cry.

I've done this often, with an apology and an explanation of why I

behaved so badly. It helps the kids a lot for me to do that.

Oh yeah. Yeast makes me hate the world and want to live in a shack in

the woods by myself. :) What kind of yeast protocol are you using?

I had bouts of this in the years I was growing increasingly toxic, &

never understood why.

Extreme emotion & impatience comes back when I've been on ALA for four

days or so, and I have to end the round abruptly. It's really painful

to go through this with family members & now I 'retreat' until the

next day.

As to a connection with yeast, I had it for many years, but never

associated sudden rage with that. Yeast could have been a factor? I

grew terribly thin & perhaps it was 'eating me up' -- I actually was

certain something WAS eating me up and ultimately underwent long-term

treatment for systemic yeast infection. Although I've scarcely eaten

foods it likes for four years, I still have to manage it with

supplements.
