Guest guest
Funny, she saw my son when he was 2 yrs old, saw him for 10 minutes, threw a ball at him, he ran to get it and she said he had ADHD and needed to be on Ritalin. At 2 yrs old - was she kidding? She told us we were in denial. Robin When she saw my son 10 years ago, she took one look at him ( no testing of any kind) whipped out her pad to prescribe ritalin. Guest guest
No, Dr. Ramos does not accept insurance. You can submit it to your provider if they will cover it. I go every 3-6 months and it costs apprx $135 for those follow up visits. My husband has gone also and he feels strongly that she is VERY good. Hope that helps. Sharon Sharon FarrarNational Marketing Director/NSA, Juice Plus+www.sharonfarrarjuiceplus.com(watch the video)! Does Dr. Ramos now accept insurance ? She didn't, the last time I called her.Sent from my iPad Sorry. I was not totally impressed with Dr. Dubrosky. She was good for a while and then there were instances where I went to her office and no one was there or returning calls, etc. I have now been going to Dr. Aronson Ramos in Coconut Creek for Developmental Pediatrician care (she does prescribe medications and gives resources). She has a lot of experience with autism and one her daughters has autism. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Wow, that's odd. All my visits with her have been at least 35 to 45 minutes. The first one was over an hour. Hence why the long wait times at times. Please, we would like recommendations for a Neurologist for our son for autism and seizures in Palm Beach or Broward counties? Guest guest
Dr Ramos is not a neurologist, she is a developmental pediatrician. Because of her guidance and getting to know my son, she led us in the right direction in which led us back to our wonderful Neruologist (Dr Tuchman) to conduct more tests. Because of the time she spent with us and really looking at all we have done for our son, she recommended additional tests which gave us the answers we needed and put our son back on track. When looking for a specialist, you need to decide what it is your looking for. We went to Dr Ramos for a second opinion. She spent about an hour with just us (the parents) and then spent about an hour with our son. What I like most about her is that she is a team player and will discuss cases with other physicians to get some answers. She is also up on different types of therapies, diet and more natural approaches, as well as medications. She really helped us at a time that we were desperate. I see that you are getting all different opinions. You need to follow your instincts and see who you feel is the right person. If you don't find what you are looking for or still have unanswered questions, then seek other professionals for help. ASD is so different for all our kids. Not any one doctor has all the answers. Guest guest
I think it depends what your needs are for your child. Most people with autism go to a neurologist to treat behavioral issues that require medication. Another option, is to use a psychiatrist who specializes in treating autism. That's what we do. We see Dr. Armenteros who is located in Coral Gables Florida. To be honest, he is our lifeline! Guest guest
As different as each of our children are, our treatment paths are also just as diversified. When we got our diagnosis of Autism I set up and appointment with a neurologist and GI doc because that is what our pediatrician recommended. As soon as I walked into the Neurologist's office and spoke with the doc I knew this was not the path for my child. We have chosen to treat my son's Autism bio medically through our DAN Dr. and I am so pleased with the progress he has made without the use of mood altering medications. I know that there is a need for medications with some of our kids but only as a last resort, certainly not the first option, and certainly not for a child under the age of 9 as their brains are still developing and psychotropic drugs can severely affect brain development. The problem is most mainstream medical practitioners do not know anything about alternative treatments and mainstream medical is all many parents have access to. After we found a good DAN Dr. we were able to identify all of the underlying issues that were affecting our child's behaviors and treat them systematically, not mask the symptoms. It is a marathon not a sprint so be very leery of any doctor handing you a magic pill. You find one pill that works then three weeks later you have to change it because it is causing a whole new set of behavioral issues. Do your research first, and talk to parents who are having success with their treatments. Compare the data and then make an educated decision. We are talking about life and death here.
