Guest guest
> > , how much zinc are you taking each day with your 2 mg copper? I am just curious. And are you taking them apart from each other? I take 1 mg copper with breakfast and with dinner. I take 25 mg zinc with at least 2 meals, sometimes 3. I take more zinc if I feel I am coming down with something, or if I actually get sick. My practitioner recommended the 2 mg copper dosage - I started that back in February and did not take any before that. My RBC levels early in chelation indicated zinc was high normal and copper was low. Since then both my copper and my zinc levels have gone down quite noticeably. I do suggest working on the malabsorption indicated by the all low test because that is very likely to contribute to imbalance or deficiency. I did not work on this very hard at first - only took digestive enzymes and ascorbic acid, which did not help. Now I am taking betaine HCL, but haven't done any testing yet to see if mineral levels have improved. When mineral transport is deranged, hair levels of copper and zinc are not reliable unless very low or very high (red). In copper deficiency, all testing for copper will be low (hair, urine, RBC, and serum). (HTI p. 115-117) > The more I am reading, the more I am thinking that my copper levels might be low. I think the high levels of zinc and vit. C for the past several months haven't helped. Look at symptoms of copper deficiency and excess. Also look at symptoms of zinc deficiency and excess. Copper excess is very similar to mercury toxicity - the main distinction is copper toxicity causes bigger PMS issues for women. If you have PMS, think copper. > I had my daughter blind muscle test me (still not sure about all this muscle testing, or if we are even doing it correctly), but I consistently tested weak for zinc and vit. C. Muscle testing weak can mean you are not absorbing or using these well. Did you test weak or strong to copper? (Do it double-blind.) > I am going to cut down on my zinc supplement, until I can talk with my MD on the 14th. Well - try it and see. Unless it makes a dramatic difference, I would not stay off it for long, since it is an important supplement. Since you have been taking it for awhile, it may not be as essential now as it will be when you start chelating. > I also seem to eat a diet low in copper. I rarely eat legumes and not much grains (gluten free and dairy free too). I do eat chocolate here and there, but not like I used to. Nuts, potatoes, mushrooms, shellfish, liver, soy foods, avocado, asparagus, tea/coffee? I am sure that is not a complete list. > Oh, and I think my fatigue was due to needing an increase in Armour. It has been 2 weeks since my last increase. I increased this morning and already feel better. That's good! With an all-low hair test, you might want to look at a multi-min supplement (such as Biotics Multi-Mins or VRP Advanced Essential Minerals). -- > Thanks! > > -Olif > > > > >
