I also attached a strap to my ankle hoping that it might help but this is day 2 and he cut it off again. Guest guest
Regarding ID bracelets. It took quite awhile to get my son use to wearing a bracelet. You must start with a very lightweight bracelet, even a piece of small rope, just to get him use to something on his wrist. Work your way up. Next purchase a cheap bracelet at the drug store, a med ID one, and let him get use to that now. This is going to take a number of weeks maybe months. Nothing happens quickly with our kids. Be patient. Eventually, he may be able to wear the bracelet you want him to wear. I started this when my son was probably 9 years old. He is now 27 and is never without his Medical Alert bracelet. He even tells me or lets me know (as his language is poor) that he has lost it or it has broken. He does not want to be without it because he knows what it is like to be lost (since it happened and the bracelet helped us find him) and he does not want that to happen again. Good luck. I have been telling parents to do something like this for years. It gives you peace of mind. Beckerman Our son has similar issues with his ID bracelet.
