Guest guest
Hi , My new doctor just wrote me a prescription for Armour that allows me to go up to 2 1/2 grains. This was after I told her I had nodules, and she said that I REALLY need the Armour. I am only on 1 1/4 now, so she is allowing me a lot of increase before I see her next. I forgot to ask what the upper amount usually is. :-( In my opinion, if you monitor by saliva, you should know when to stop. I think the blood is iffy, because it isn't tissue representation. BTW, my new doc gave me a prescription for DMSA and thinks I should start adding in ALA now. She likes Andy's protocol. :-) -Olif P.S. My new AWESOME doctor offered me a job yesterday, too!!! I might take it! :-)

Guest guest
I would suggest you visit the www.stopthethyroidmaddness.com They have all the info you need on armour. Also the yahoo health group :naturalthyroidhormones is excellent. I have heard 2-3 grains but you need to introuduce it lower and work it up. It will depend on symptoms as to how much. > > I was reading Broda Barne's book " Hypothyroidism " and I was surprised > to read that in order to relieve symptoms it most commonly took 2 > grains, sometimes 3, and rarely 4. I'm looking for different opinions than the standard advice one finds at those two sites (which IME seems to be it's rare to optimize under 3 grains). in Illinois
Guest guest
, Have you considered this? http://www.wilsonssyndrome.com/ I am trying it. Even if I still need to take some thyroid hormone after doing this, it may reduce the dose I require. Then again, it may not work, but I feel it is worth a try. FYI, this protocol uses sustained release T3, not Armour, although one could certainly use Armour after getting whatever benefit they can from trying s protocol. -- > > I was reading Broda Barne's book " Hypothyroidism " and I was surprised > to read that in order to relieve symptoms it most commonly took 2 > grains, sometimes 3, and rarely 4. Guest guest
I've read about it ('s Syndrome), briefly, but haven't seriously considered trying it. I've had a rough go of it since about December, and I had been doing so well before that. My periods are messed. up. So, no doubt I need some help balancing sex hormones. I started Armour in May, but I'm having chest tightness/discomfort and an elevated pulse. The DO I'm seeing wants me to start over at 1/2 grain and take it very, very slow. He wants to check my adrenals again too. The plan is once my thyroid is optimized, we can adjust the sex hormones. I haven't done any rounds for myself or the kids since...April? I have not felt up to it at all. in Illinois

With low temperatures many enzymes do not work anymore (just like with mercury). I'm looking into sorting my low temps out with the sustained release T3. Tell me, what does someone do that is low temperature, but is already on Armour? She is one 3 grains, and increasing by 1/4 each week. Still no resolution of her symptoms and low temps. Can she take sustained release T3 on top of Armour to correct this? Thanks, Dean
Guest guest
So sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, . It does sound like too high a dose - or perhaps you need some T3 in addition to Armour?? I don't know enough. Not sure why you need to optimize Armour before addressing female hormones? Does your doctor seem knowledgeable about hormone treatment? Even if he is, mercury-toxic people are not like everyone else. I hope you get to feeling better and more balanced soon. Chapter 12 of the doctor's manual explains how this is handled. http://www.wilsonssyndrome.com/eManual/Chapters/12Hypothyroid.cfm --
