Guest guest
, I had bile duct cancer, which I think is the same thing. Mine was mid bile duct and it had invaded the pancreas. I had surgery at the Mayo and then had chemo and radiation. This has been a little over 3 years. Guest guest
don't count it as cancer yet. I had dysplasia cells in my color 8 years ago (I had UC for 16 years and it was so scarred that it is a wonder they found the dysplasia, but they did) I had my entire colon removed and a jpouch constructed so bodily functions are 'normal', just more frequently. My last 5 ERCP's have producted abnormal cells, but I am told over and over again by the hep's that the abnormal cells can be the irritation in the bile ducts and not dysplasia, however, if dysplasia, just have the heps watch everything closely. for you and your husband, , you need to think POSITIVE. I realize that close calls in families can produce alot of anxiety. For example, I am 6 of 6 kids. I have 1 sister left. My other siblings died at ages of 42-51. I am 50 and my living sister is 51. don't think that this past April 5th I did not have some anxious moments about turning 50. My family has had alot of tragedy (just ask the other folks here...I'm always talking about one thing or another and it's like a soap opera in slow-motion) Remember, statistics are just that...statistics. A person's attitude and outlook on life (dispite the aches and pains) as well as 'will to survive' are MAJOR playing factors in survival.
