Letter to Doctor who thought I wouldn't get better

I would have to agree, that the doctor will not apreciate the letter, and

yes he/she will probably put it in your chart. But from the sound of it I

get the impression that you are more concierned about making your voice

heard then weather or not your informative letter makes its way in your

chart. In my opinion there is nothing in that letter that will leave a

negative impression for anyone else viewing it.

One thing I recomend should that be a conciern is to start keeping a copy of

all your medical records in your own home. That way YOU are the one in

control of what records are forwarded to new doctors. That would be the

real conciern, that a new doctor reads that letter and wonders what kind of

trouble he/she is up against;) But of course if you copy your own records

and hand carry or mail them to any new doctors you can keep anything out

that is incriminating. Since I have started doing that I have seen all

sorts of stuff that doctors who are fed up with me leave in my chart, and

staff too. Phone encounters that are recorded where the nurses vent about

how difficult I am when requesting information, doctor dictations that are

mostly a rant about how long they spent in the office with me. Having up to

date copies of your records will help you to both release to new doctors

what you think they need (weather you want to omit a less than helpful

dictation, or if you want to include more info) and keep yourself informed

on how the doctors and staff really feel about you.
