Guest guest
My guess would be that the combination of the Prozac and T3 in Armour might be too stimulating. Prozac is one of the most stimulating of the SSRI's and even makes many people crazy and manic. I had a severe adverse reaction to it and had to go to the ER back in 2002. How long have you been on both? What could be causing anxiety/agitation? (a little long...sorry) I am on 60 mg of Armour first thing in the morning. About 1/2 hour later, I take some other meds including Prozac (for anxiety) and Adreset (for adrenal support). I also drink some coffee, but it is only half caffeinated. About 1 to 3 hours after taking the Armour, I sometimes feel hyper and agitated and become impatient and irritable quickly. I also feel like my pulse is more rapid and I get out of breath more easily. The feelings then come and go throughout the day. I was like this before I ever took SSRI's, so I'm not sure why it's resurfacing. I know Prozac is bad, but I have been on SSRI's for the past 12 years for anxiety disorder (I have tried many of them, unfortunately). I'm wondering if I'm taking something I shouldn't, if I'm on too high a dose of Armour, or if I need to add something to feel calm and normal. Any thoughts? In case it helps, here are my most recent labs: TSH 0.16 (0.30 - 5.00 uIU/mL) FT4 0.6 (0.6 - 1.6 ng/dL) FT3 3.33 (2.30 - 4.20 pg/mL) Reverse T3 251 (90 - 350 pg/mL) I have normal serum DHEA, but low saliva DHEA. My saliva cortisol tests were all in the low end of normal, but the late night number was very low. My DHEA/Cortisol ratio was low, too. Thanks so much in advance! Guest guest
I think you are reacting the Armour dose because with that and Prozac you are putting too much stress on your adrenals. I don't know if Adreset is strong enough or what is in it, but you need cortisol support and to track your daily temps like the Dr. Rind site explains. Your cortisol levels are too low. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for trying to help me. I don't like being fatigued, but this constant hyper feeling is really weird. No, I am not on Cortisol. My doc who is treating my thyroid/adrenals has only been helping me since November and I think she is making changes gradually to see what will help. My blood DHEA was normal. Here are the results of my saliva testing (through Genova Diagnostics): Cortisol: 0.49 (range 0.27 - 1.18 mcg/dl) 7 - 9 a.m. 0.23 (range 0.10 - 0.41) 11 a.m - 1 p.m. 0.13 (range 0.05 - 0.27) 3 - 5 p.m. <0.03 (range 0.03 - 0.14) 10 p.m. - 12 a.m. DHEA 7 - 9 a.m. - 74 (range 71 - 640 pg/ml) DHEA: Cortisol Ratio/10,000 - 151 (115 - 1,188) I'm not sure if this is what you were asking, Val, but my first labs in June of '07 had my TSH at 5.2 (range of 0.30 - 5.0) and my FT4 at 0.8 (range of 0.6 - 1.6). I only had RT3 tested once. My FT4 has never gotten out of the basement, so don't know what's going on there. Also, I stopped taking my Pravachol (statin drug to lower cholesterol) about 3 weeks ago because I thought it could be adding to my bad muscle aches. Maybe getting the Pravachol out of my system has me metabolizing the other meds differently? Thanks again for all your help! Jodi
Guest guest
Cheri, my doc is treating my adrenal fatigue with Adreset (contains ginseng, rhodiola and cordyceps). I also take DGL licorice (to help with IBS) and phosphatidylserine (before bedtime to help with sleep). Val, what type of HC do you recommend I start with and in what doses? Thanks so much, all, for sharing your time and knowledge! Jodi
Guest guest
There is only one kind of HC unless oyu conside slow release which I do not ever recommend. You could use OTC cream as it is readily available and will not require a script or an argument woith a doctor. Or if you need it we have sources to order over seas,At any rate there is a ramp up schedule in our files uner " How to treat adrenals " that will take you up to 20MG and there you wouldhold and graph temps three times a day following the method described at www.drrind.com as this is the best way to monitor whne you have ENOUGH cortils once on HC. The 1% cream contains 10MG HC per 1/4 teaspoon so a dosing syringe or measuring spoons for small amounts is needed. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
