Thanks for the reply. I have recently tried iodine and it has helped, but i

started to feel tired again today.

Even so my temp on waking has now been at 36.5C / 97.7 for 3 days running. For

a long time my temp has been at 36.4C / 97.6 and when not very well it dips down

to 36.2/97.2. So i think this indicates i am getting somewhere, especially as

my morning temp pre thyroid hormones was 96.5.

In the day my temps have been very stable at 36.9-37C (98.5 - 98.6). I am

taking 25mg hc and think i am nice and stable.

I am just having this problem with absorbing the T3 i think. however i do not

have any RT3 blood tests.

tomorrow i will try 2 grains and 25mg divided into 2.

>Can you take natural hormones as well as taking T3 synthetic.

You can mix and hence take differing T3/T4 ratios. It depends whether

you had an RT3 issue as to whether this is a good idea

>

>i think i will need some T4 in my diet so to speak and wondered if taking 2

grains and 25mg T3 would be ok.

Why?? There are plenty of us doing very well indeed on just T3. There

is no direct biological activity from T4

Stable temps are good (HC), and so are temps that are gradually rising towards

98.6 (thyroid). Whether iodine is beneficial is much debated here; Val

generally recommends against it, here's a post from her:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/37685

My personal opinion is that iodine is much like T4 in that some people's bodies

utilize it in a beneficial way, but in others it causes more problems than it

solves.

You mentioned a possible problem with absorbing the T3...dissolving it under the

tongue instead of swallowing it whole can help absorption. That's what I do.

Cindy I tried every combo of Armoru and Armour + T3 for 15 LOONG years.

Trashed my adrenals in the process. I have BNEVER felt better on any

thyroid med than I do on T3 only. T2 and T1 are made from T3 Calcitoinin

is not just made in the thyroid but all over our bodies so we are still

making it with or wihtout T4 or natural thyroid. Or without a thyroid.

Yes there may be other thingsin Naturla thyroid that SOME people need,

but as yet they have not been identified. I sure dont; feel like I need

anything else except maybe to get rid of my Diabetes and what I suspect

is Mycoplasma infection. Thyroid-wise I will promote T3 till I die! LOL

Val, this is the first I've read of crashing on Armour. Since I almost died,

was mistakenly dx with a pit tumor in the fall of 06, found NTASupport group, in

Dec 07, I think, I've been on Armour, HC, sea salt and recommended supplements.

Every fall I've had a horrible crash and lost 3-6 months of anything I'd gained.

I've been blaming it on trying to do too much such as walking and doing yoga.

Maybe it was Armour?

I've been on 240 Armour and started 75 mcg Cytomel in Dec 08 , then dropped

Armour to 180 in Jan 09, 120 in Mar and 0 in April when you looked at my labs

and said I have RT3 issues. I tried to increase T3 to 100 and had an adverse

reaction, the tried 87.5 and have done fine.

I'm concerned because my pulse is ranging from 88-110, sitting. This morning I

did salt water test. Before 123/79 pulse 99. An hour after 103/75 pulse 102, and

I hadn't taken cytomel yet.

My temps were higher a year ago, but with more variability. The past month,

they've been lower but with much less variability...though they've dropped-is it

the additional T3, working more hours, stress?

I increased HC from 40-50 to see if temps would stabilize. Fatigue and fuzzy

thinking are MUCH better than a year ago, even that 3 months ago. My only

complaint is that I'm gaining weight and muscle is turning to fat, I felt so bad

last fall that I did nothing from Thanksgiving til now.

Do I continue to raise T3 dose a bit at a time? keep HC where it is?

I stopped, as you suggested, the L-Tyrosine and Thyodine supplements that I'd

started mid-March. That may help.

Thanks,
