Hi I'm new here, I've just got some lab results back and would really appreciate

some advice:

Total thyroxine: 72.2 (58-154 nmol/L)

TSH: 0.18 (0.4 - 4 mIU/L)

Free T4: 13.4 (10 - 22 pmol/L)

Free T3: 3.48 (2.8 - 6.5 pmol/L)

Free T4 T3: ratio 3.85 (3 - 5)

Thyrogobulin <20 (<40)

Peroxidase (Microsomal) <10 (<35)

Reverse T3 0.46 (0.14 - 0.54 pmol/L)

I worked out my RT3/T3 ratio to be 7.5 (think that's right?!) I think that

might be a bit low?

Hi ya,

Great its always vital to have the saliva test and ferritin results before doing anything!

It would a good idea, when you get them, to post your saliva results on the adrenal groups and someone can advise you on how to treat them.

Gosh your ferritin was low-that alone can make you feel pretty awful. Some people need to be on 200-250mgs of iron to get their levels up! Perhaps you could post the results when they come in as well

I would have thought your fatigue would be coming from that horrible FT3/RT3 ratio. You may need to be on T3 as NDT contains T4 which is the pro hormone for RT3. And it looks like in your case that instead of the T4 converting into T3 its actually converting into RT3. The RT3 then blocks the receptors and prevents T3 entering your cells. My guess is thats whats making you feel so terrible.

I'm still learning but that would be my guess.

Is your Dr. prescribing the NDT?

Hi Josie! Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not feeling reat to be honest - terrible fatigue and depression. I'm currently taking 1.5 grains of NDT and am feeling a little better on it. My ferrritin was 27 5 months ago and I've been supplementing with ferrous sulphate, I need to get it rechecked but I feel like the FS is doing the trick. I'm pretty sure my adrenals are fatigued, I've been supporting them naturally and should get the results of my saliva test in a couple of weeks,Alice>> > Hi Alice,> > > > Yep 3.48/0.46 = 7.56. Yep, that should be 20 or greater.

T3 only is the way to go, were you on any thyroid meds at the time of

those labs??
