Guest guest
Speech problems can definitely be from either low thyroid or low cortisl. The thyroid affects the ability of th emuscles to respond normally and when lowering cortisl you may have hit a poitn wher the htyroid is not gettign ot the cells either creating a low thyroid situation as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I can comment on the dyslexia. When my adrenals got really bad a few years ago, I got very dyslexic. I am not sure if it is more adrenal or thyroid because both were bad but it still comes and goes depending on my adrenal/thyroid function. Guest guest
MIld to BAD dyslexia can both be cused by low thyroid and thus by low cortiosl as well. Don't lok at my typing.. I used ot be SO accurate! LOL I also won awards in school for my spelling and you sure couldn';t tell that now! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Lol, Val. I assumed your typos were due to answering thousands of email a day and no time to worry about it. I know I don't have time to proof mine often times and on another list someone always corrects me. I told her if she keeps doing that she will have to correct each one which will take her all day, ha! She stopped after that. I actually won awards for my writing in the past. Hard to believe looking at what I write now, lol. It was actually one of my employees who first noticed the change in my spelling, grammar and hand writing aback in '99. That is when my health really crashed but I didn't have a list like this to know what was happening. I just knew I was getting dumb all of a sudden. Now if I have to write for something professional I have a friend proofread since even my proofreading misses things. Cheri Re: Speech problems and cortisol weaning? Guest guest
I have a son who is severely dyslexic, but for him, it's not related to thyroid or adrenal problems, both are great. Guest guest
> the change in my .. hand writing > This stuff can cause changes in hand writing? What kind of changes? I've ALWAYS had a tendency to grip my pencil or pen too hard, which gets worse as I write more, and don't shift my hand right as I write along, so letters get cramped toward the end of words. But then, I was premature and had all sorts of gross-motor/fine-motor co- ordination problems, so it was blamed on that (and laziness of course!). I also thing that at some point, people " simplify " their handwriting in systematic ways - they omit some of the curlicuees and needless strokes that the " penmanship books " (shouldn't that be " pen- person-ship " ?) always have, like the little loop in the middle of a cursive z, the little loop at the top of a capital cursive c, unnecessary strokes that are there anyway (can't think of any right now). People develop their own style of writing, which is why you almost NEVER see anyone who writes exactly to " the method " . And people with " good handwriting " or " neat handwriting " either write perfectly like the book, or are completely different. I don't think I ever did this - and the little simplifications I did make are not consistent from one letter to the next, so there is no 'uniformity' to it which I think makes handwriting easier to read. I have noticed that it seems to have improved on the thyroid and/or Isocort, although it would probably take YEARS to " rewrite " the motor programs involved (although, perhaps not given that it's an unconscious process mostly). Guest guest
I have the same problem. I am wondering if this could happen because of not using hand writing much lately. I am not writing anything at all. only typing.I signed a paper recently and I could not recognize my own signature. Nil/7 RE: Speech problems and cortisol weaning? Sloppy and hard to read. Guest guest
Well, with me I was writing a lot when my writing got bad so that was not the case. I have to go really slow and concentrate if I am to get my writing even somewhat readable and before I used to write at least 50 pages a day and my writing was very clear and nice. Now I struggle to read my own writing if I write a quick note for someone. Cheri Re: Speech problems and cortisol weaning? I have the same problem. Guest guest
I too have problems writing anything neatly anymore. Used to be my boys and ex would have me write anything cuz my writing was real pretty and neat. NOT anymore. It looks more like chicken scratch now. I hate that. And my spelling recall has gone down the tubes. I cannot remember how to spell words that I could just a few years ago. I am hoping once I get the thyroid and adrenals optimized that some of that will come back. Christi Randall www.singingwomenoftexas.com Re: Speech problems and cortisol weaning? Guest guest
What is really bad is when you can't remember since words like " car " and the people you are trying to communicate with either think you are insane or on drugs. My word recall has also taken a nose dive. Cheri Re: Speech problems and cortisol weaning? I too have problems writing anything neatly anymore.
