Guest guest
I have floaters like crazy too and I think it is a toxicity issue. I know thyroid causes eye issues like more pressure, bulging eyes and pain for some. I had huge issues with the for a few years which I think was related to Hashi attacks. I suspect adrenals do too but don't exactly know the relationship. The only thing I know about adrenals is the pupil dilation test is adrenal related. I used to have pretty good eyesight and excellent far vision. I have become a lot more nearsighted. The main thing that bothers me is light and I have to squint a lot. I do know people who have had their eyesight improve dramatically after detoxing. Cheri eye problems anyone? Are eye problems associated with AF? I don't remember reading anything about it. Mine are going from bad to worse and I have terrible floaters. Just wondering. English .
Guest guest
In Graves, one of the antibodies attacks the eye muscles (PMID 15164997 " Eye muscle antibodies in Graves' ophthalmopathy.. " ). The same antibodies appear sometimes with Hashimoto's but it looks like they are more common wth Graves. (Oh great, now *I'm* starting to leave in typos! ) A google search for " antibodies eye " and Graves or Hashimoto's turns up a lot of fascinating looking stuff. Guest guest
Jim, The floater that is really bothering me is a large one that is right in front of my pupil area. It floats in a fairly small area and my brain is having a hard time ignoring it. It is like a shade that draws over my vision intermittently if that makes sense. I am a very visual person so it is quite alarming and disturbing. In doing a brief bit of googling, I found a few places where people mentioned low blood pressure as being a possible contributer to floaters. So, I will be looking into it further today. I have been checked by a retina specialist as this type of floater makes you also at greater risk for retinal detachment. Fortunately, I am not quite there yet. English > What kind of eye problems? Are the floaters bright > spots that all go in the same direction (this is a specific eye > problem I read about). > > Jim

Guest guest
I'd be curious to know what you find out - I have very low bp and terrible floaters. I've had several eye docs puzzled over what they called an " enlarged " optic nerve (back when I had insurance) but nothing ever came of it. Guest guest
All the info I found (which was very little) was anecdotal. In fact it seemed like they were more associhe kind of floateated with high BP if I remember correctly. Guest guest
Gail, It sounds like you are talking about surface floaters which is different from what I am talking about. Mine is from the vitreous material inside my eye breaking off. I do have tons of the ones you are talking about. They aren't as bothersome as they move around alot and are more like small hairs or something. Much easier to ignore. This is larger and denser and stays pretty much right in the center of my eye. They say I will either eventually be able to ignore it or that it might break up into smaller pieces, but it has been a couple of months now and it is still really irritating. Guest guest
I've been very frustrated since 1999 when I began having vision issues... R eye droop, fuzziness, shutter-like focus, etc. Doc gave me trifocals AND computer glasses... helped for a while, but the symptoms came back. The past year has gotten so bad that I've gone to my doc about once a month and had every possible test and exam. Results show enough pressure to be glaucom suspect, seed cataracts due to long term hypo undiagnosed, lots of floaters, some that stay in the center of my right eye and obscure vision... no dx or tx suggested. No macular degeneration, no retinal detachment, etc... doc says that decreased fluctuating vision on R is due to irregular tear layer... but the suggested treatment of artificial tears isn't helping. I KNOW that this is hormonal/adrenalthyroid, but don't know what to do.... in 99, they thought it was related to MS, but my symptoms weren't conclusive, and those, I now believe were thyroid and adrenal related... anyone else? ideas, sugggestions? I spend my 8 hours a day at work on a computer when I'm not supervising, in meetings, etc.... and sometimes I just want to scream because my right eye is out of focus...None of you know me... but I " m not a complainer.. usually I can figure things out, do something, accomodate and move on... but this, like the AF, isn't changing... and I don't have high BP, in fact it was low for years... 100-110/60-70 and now is in teh 120's/70's..... and I'm not getting faint when I stand up... except occasionally... Thanks, > > > > All the info I found (which was very little) was anecdotal.
