Guest guest
Hi! , I hope some of the info below will help you in some way. For help getting a job, you can contact your local Vocational Rehab - http://www.rehabworks.org/area2_offices.shtml http://www.rehabworks.org/ or center for independant living - http://cilj.com/ If you can work independantly, try applying at your local Publix or Walgreen's store. They seem to be open to hiring people with autism. Most of the parents on this list worry about what will happen to their children when they are gone. A group that is working on a community for people with autism, but is a little south of you in Palm Bay, Florida is Betsy Farmer and Promise - http://promiseinbrevard.org/ There is also Noah's Ark of Central Florida - A community for the disabled - http://noahsarkflorida.org/ ARC - 86051 Hamilton Street Yulee FL 32097 (Nassau County) (Main Phone) Adrienne Talbert, Executive Director Fax: E-Mail address: arcnatalbert@... Website: http://www.arcnassau.org & www.thearc.org These 2 web sites may also be helpful: http://www.nassaucountyautism.blogspot.com/ http://www.nssa.net/programs.html You may also want to have your parents look into a special needs trust for you. If you aren't already receiving Soc. Security and medicaid, you need to apply for that. You may be eligible for a discounted or free bus pass in your county, and even though there is an extremely long waiting list, you may want to apply for APD if you aren't already on the list or receiving this. Guest guest
The people at legal aid may be able to help with your Soc. Sec. issues, Legal aid or Gowdy may help you for a reduced rate or pro bono if you explain your situation to him.
