Guest guest
Thanks Diane....No, not going to doctor. But boy you should see the bruises on my thighs...good ones. Hard to tell really what pain came from falling or our friend NF! Thanks for your concern though... Hugs, Carol falls Hello Carol, sorry to hear about your fall - sounds painful. Hope you are planning to see your Dr. I had a major fall about a year ago thought it was not so bad. After 3 weeks finally saw the Dr. found I had fractured my ankle. Hope you are feeling better and taking it easy. Diane

Not so bad. But you did need to clarify.. patti > > Hi Diane, > You are right to be concerned. I've not heard of pulmonary hypertension being treated with Cytoxan. Have they suggested a right heart catherterization to confirm the PH? > Have you considered consulting a cardiologist? I've not ever heard of treating the lung fibrosis to improve the pulmonary hypertension. I mean there is no recognized effective treatment for the fibrosis so I'm really unclear about what they are trying to accomplish with you. Do you feel comfortable discussing this with your pulmonologist? Please continue to ask questions until you get answers that make sense to you. We are all entitled to that! Had a chest CT and everything showed stable and the same since Dec 07. I still have more problems so went for a echocardiogram. Lo and behold- pulmonary hypertension! !! Of course these doctors here are very slow so now I have it more moderately then slight. The pulmonologist wants to put me back on cytoxan and my Rheumatologist says absolutely not! What the heck am I supposed to do.??? Truthfully I thought by reading online they would treat the PH with cardiac meds but he believes to treat the lung. Has anyone had similiar answers??? Guest guest
Hi Diane, An echo can only show that pulmonary hypertension MAY be evident, it is not an accurate reading. For an accurate reading they will have to do a right heart cath, (for me they did both sides while they were there just to see if anything was beginning to go wrong in the left heart or not) once they have a reading from the right heart cath they can check for deterioration with an echo. Then if they do find PH they will start you on treatment. Treatment will depend on how severe your PH is. My right heart cath in July showed 'mild' PH and they were discussing whether to treat at that level, but subsequent echo's showed a deterioration. I have been put on Sildenifil (viagra) and I have noticed a difference in my sats, they stay up for longer and when they do drop they recover quicker. If you do have PH then it is vital that you are treated properly for it. It cannot be cured, but it can usually be controlled. The drugs required are completely different to the lung meds. Please insist on getting this looked at. Love Ze xx > >> > Hi Diane,> > You are right to be concerned. I've not heard of pulmonary > hypertension being treated with Cytoxan.
