Guest guest
Best wishes to you Larry. Bill had his J pouch on June 13th 05.It made life so much better for him without prednisone and 16 asacol a day.He was down to just 120 pounds and looked so ill prior to the surgery. While the recovery was rough the first couple of months, he felt better almost immediately. His weight returned to normal and he got his life back.Thinking of you,Lee Thanks to all who offered their much appreciated information on the J-Pouch. I have decided to go for the entire enchilada and have the entire colon removed. I will be going in for surgery on 15 June to have my colon removed and a J-Pouch formed. I will have the bag for about three months until it all heals and then they will remove the bag....God willing. I will be in the hospital for about 5 days and at home for about 6 weeks....boring. I guess that is needed.
Guest guest
Larry, My thought are with you. My husband had his J pouch done in two parts also, with exactly 3 months between surgeries. It's not easy, but it will be worth it in the end. wife of UC & PSC 2000, J pouch 2004 transplant 2006
Guest guest
You sure have done your homework. I am sending our best to you. Prayers for a speedy recovery and I will be thinking of you and your family. I know you will be fine . Just one more thing, they have what is call an ET nurse to assist with after surgery issues. Be sure and get his/her card so that you can call with questions. Make friends with them as they will be your best information provider and supply co-ordinator. Hugs, Dee
