Guest guest
I’m sure others will have some good suggestions. For me, the fact that you offered to drive her and that you are going to stay and visit for a while, would mean more to me than anything you could buy. A *good & understanding* ear means the world, as so many here in this group can tell you. Sometimes a person just wants someone to listen – a person who actually understands what you’re talking about and going through. Someone you can “vent” to. I’ll bet she would treasure your company more than anything else. Maybe stopping for a Starbuck’s on the way home would be nice. Barb in Texas - Together in the Fight, Whatever it Takes! Guest guest
a-I echo what Barb said. Being there and offering to drive your friend is a kindness that is beyond measure. If you are really wanting to do something special, I would think about a journal or maybe a big ole' pot of soup. Something that she can express her cares/worries in a very personal way, and the soup, simply to warm her spirits.Your kindness is felt beyond any material thing you could offer her.Brother, , 30, UC & PSC

Guest guest
Thanks to all who replied. We had a great visit today and everyone was right. Just a visit was enough to lift her spirits a bit. My friend has been at the top of the transplant list for over 4 months and is starting to get very discouraged. She has been through it once before and knows what to expect, but while she waits she has had to be hospitalized to control the pain. Interestingly enough, she started UV therapy a few weeks back and she also is amazed at how it has helped with her itching when nothing else would.... Have a great weekend everyone. a PSC '
