I went to my TX on October 17th looking like I was 10 months pregnant! I had had ascities and leg swelling for 3 years before the tx. My docs in Pittsburgh would not tap me either because of risk of infection, especially before the tx. I think it was the most miserable symptom of all the PSC blah. I really feel for you as I have been there. However, I am delighted to report that after tx things are much better. I still have a touch in my lower legs, which I really only notice at the end of the day. And that is fast improving. So hang in there. Better days are sure to come.
